DIVE OAHU KUHIO BEACH IS AMAZING!! 🤩 🏄🏻‍♂️ 🌊 My son had been dying to take surfing lessons for months/years before our vacay to Hawaii.

He had a private lesson with Lonny (hope I’m spelling that correctly), and I can honestly say there is no possible way on earth he could’ve had a better instructor. Lonny was supportive, encouraging, and understanding towards my son with special needs. I couldn’t believe he was up and surfing the entire time after just a brief instruction with Lonny!

The girl who checked us in (sorry can’t remember her name, maybe Mila?), was lovely as well; she was extremely professional as well as caring towards my son. She guided us through the short intake form & waiver perfectly.

This Dive Oahu experience totally made our trip.

Lonny’s vibe was real and I can tell he loves what he does. He had the best energy. I’m sure he picked up on the fact my son was a little nervous (and me), yet Lonny’s demeanor put us at ease. My son had an AWESOME TIME riding waves and I was elated watching him live out one of his dreams.

Zero stars - Witnessed this employee cuss out a man she accused of shouting at her daughter- her daughter had been surfing without a leash and her board had hit the man's son in the head- instead of apologizing- she gets in his face - spews spit and cuss words- in front of all the kids - asking where he was from in a threatening tone - using her hand gestures and waving that head like she was on a reality show - the man calmly explained that her daughter should have a leash on her board and she flat out stated that her daughter did not need a leash - very inconsiderate and neglegent - then her man comes, accuses the man of theatening his daughter, grabs him and pushes him- the daughter finally admitted that there was no threat and they walked away without an apology- VERY DISTURBING to have these people run the show here in Waikiki- true Kamaaina are full of aloha - very disturbing to see locals act so ghetto with groundless animosity - hope they get to the root of their unhappiness- instead of trying to instigate fights- -really give locals...

Don’t use this place. Took 9 year old daughter for first group surf lesson. The instructor left her alone to take a teenager and an adult back to shore. When I asked where my daughter was he informed me he “was going back for her”. Then he couldn’t find her and returned to me after five minutes and said, “I don’t know where she is... but she’ll be here somewhere” For ten awful minutes I was running along the beach trying to find her. It was hell. I did find her and she was upset and scared. She told me “he just left me.. I watched him take the other people to shore and I didn’t know what to do...” I have no words to describe the idiocy of leaving a 9 year old alone in the ocean while you decide to bring the adult and teenager in to shore first. She is a good swimmer but she had no additional buoyancy aids and the waves were really strong. I can’t recommend this place at all - they should be shut down immediately. The instructor ‘Mike’ didn’t even apologize to me. Nada. No one was in charge, and no one was...
