L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Honolulu

Colleague from the mainland who's never been to Hawaii requested, "I'd like to try local Hawaiian food." This is where my coworker (who's lived here 30+ years) and I took him.

He ordered the Kalua Pork Lau Lau. He didn't care for it much-- but he appreciated the experience.

My half curry shrimp and half fried shrimp (just get all curry shrimp) was nice. The breading on the fried shrimp had rocky bits around the edges that were a few shades beyond crunchy. This L&L restaurant by Costco Iwilei is the best of the many L&L's I've visited. The food is always well prepared, tasty, and nicely portioned. The restaurant is well kept, clean, and inviting. I've eaten here so often earning me numerous cash equivalent rewards with their loyalty program. The staff are always friendly and courteous reflecting how much they value their customer.... I’ve eaten at L&L on Big Island, Maui, and Oahu. This location is by far the worst I’ve ever been too. My boyfriend and I ordered the same things we order at every other l&l and the food was inedible. I tried to communicate with the staff, and got nowhere. I asked for a refund not having taken more than a bite without spitting it out into my napkin. After refusal of a refund we asked them to throw the food away and walked out.
