It was my first time visiting Hawaii and Cousin Miah (shortened down from a much longer name) was a fantastic tour guide. He made proactive decisions to make sure we were able to make extra stops along different local fruit/mac nut stands for bathroom breaks and free coffee. His explanation of Hawaiian culture, mythology, and history was extremely well done, as he injected humour and energy to each story. It was extra interactive as he tailored his humour to specific guests (Aussies/Mainland Americans/Military personnel/families) and gave out prizes for people who participated in answering trivia questions correctly. He was great with individuals of all ages, telling kids some funny folk stories, socializing with the adults, and taking extra time to help the seniors on the bus with grabbing their food/drinks/bags and helping them up/down the bus. Keep note that while snorkeling is provided, my session was not supervised/have the lessons included. The free time on the dole plantation/beach was not guided. You're expected to go off on your own during that time, which may not be suited for everyone. Early...
Read morePaolo is the owner of Hawaii Rainbow Tours. My friend booked Paolo and his company for our friend's birthday. We had a group of 7 and didn't want to use Lyft or Uber. We all wanted to ride down together and wanted to support a local company. Paolo was our driver for the night. Paolo was really awesome. He showed up at our friend's house a little early, and we got to talk story with him while we waited for our other friends to finish getting ready. When we were all ready, Paolo pulled out a little step stool and we loaded into the spacious van. Paolo was hilarious and provided great conversation while driving us. He let us play our own music during the 20 minute ride to the restaurant. The van looked very clean and I felt very safe while riding inside the van. We got dropped off and picked up right outside the restaurant. After our dinner, Paolo gladly took us to the near by 7-11 for a snack run. We quickly loaded back into the van and dropped us back off at the house. Overall, it was a great experience.
I'd definitely recommend Paolo and...

We were 7 people including 2 kids. We had a few spots in mind but wanted to avoid a 16 stop cross island tour. Rather wanted to cover a couple of the top beaches (take time to take photos, get our feet wet, swim and not rush), some vista points and have lunch at the shrimp trucks. We asked our hotel concierge if they could connect me to someone who would do a custom tour for us in one large car. That’s how we booked with Paulo.
He showed up on time with a mini coach with a cooler and some maps. He took us around our intended route with a couple adjustments he suggested that ended up being great! We also connected with him personally and better understood the HawaiIan people, lifestyle, politics, housing markets etc. He was professional, funny and very knowledgeable in Hawaiian history. Thoroughly enjoyed the chats while hitting up some beautiful spots. Highly...
