Queen Emma in particular called for Honolulu cathedral to be modeled after the Cathedral in Lyon, France. The massive church structure was then built instages.
Today, the Cathedral has church services at 8:00M and 11:00AM. The early service is a blend of the Hawaiian language and English speaking portions.

The Aeolian Skinner pipe organ's 133 ranks are approximately one third Walker digital which are seamlessly integrated into the sound. Services have varied over the years anywhere from traditional "middle of the road" Episcopal to fairly high church with many chanted prayers.
