First of all the Customer service is Indeed Incredible. The Bike and Chose to rent was the Explorer Cargo which was attractive to look at ( I got plenty of compliments and requests where they could get the E-bike I was riding from ) I boasted proudly of Hele on Waikiki as again the treatment I received as a customer and the affordable pricing was remarkable . The Explorer Cargo was fun fast and comfortable. Very easy to use despite the heavy traffic in Hawaii. The only additional recommendations I would make to you the would be to you the would be rider is to review some safety precautions one should take in order to have fun while riding while maintaining thorough safe habits while riding. I sought YouTube for advice prior to my rental which was super helpful and informative. The proof is I returned my rental injury free ( Thank You Jesus!) the only additional equipment you might want to purchase is a mirror for you left handlebar to see the traffic behind you, and a phone holder on the handle bar ( I purchased mine from Walmart for about 25.00)s. I wore a fluorescent reflective vest and added some additional flashing lights for the front and the back to ensure that vehicles in my vicinity were able to see me even if I had not seen them. The staff at Hele are Awesome, Ms. Ashley went above and beyond my expectations and the Manager Tommy also very friendly and helpful. Overall my rating is Two thumbs up. 5 stars and a lot of love. Definitely Choose...
Read moreHad a 5-person family trip and we took the Manoa Falls Bike & Hike path. I appreciated this company calling me in the morning and suggesting we wait a little to let some of the rain clear to have a more enjoying ride, but we were pressed for time and went anyway. It was fun riding in the rain!
This is a no-frills type of operation and that is the way I like it. Price was great for 4 hours of rental! They had the bikes out, ready to go. There is no tour guide which is fine with us. We were able to go at our own pace ,stop at Leonards for some Malasadas (a must get if you are taking this path), bike through U of Hawaii, and then some riding through a residential area before getting to the waterfall parking lot, followed by the hike up to the waterfall (pretty crazy hike in the rain with a lot of rocks).
Bikes are sweet, have both pedal assist and thumb acceleration. They are heavy, but provide wide tires (great for rain) and feel really stable. Our route took us through some traffic, oh well, no biggie. This is Oahu, car drivers are super nice.
My family loved this event! We'd do it again, and I'd use Hele on Waikiki again as well! There were no issues and that is the way it should be to enjoy your time on the island for a cool...
Read moreWe learned of Hele while walking around Waikiki then gave it some thought. My wife found a GroupOn later that night so we decided to purchase. We couldn't figure out a way to reserve ahead of time when using a GroupOn so we stopped by first thing in the morning to see if there were any available e-bikes and there were ! Tommy was super nice and helpful, and gave us a rundown on how to operate the e-bikes. They weren't too different than the ones we had at home so we found it pretty easy. We took the recommended route around the base of Diamond Head and were able to do it twice, unintentionally. I guess the first time we finished it so fast that I confused myself and thought we took a wrong turn so we ended up doing the entire loop again. After all that we still had one hour left so we rode to Don Quixote. It was recommended that we don't leave the bikes unattended in the Ala Moana area so I stayed with the bikes while my wife went inside Don Quixote to get a butter mochi. So basically we looped around Diamond Head twice, went to Don Quixote, chilled for a bit, and then returned the bikes all within 2 hours. Would do again. Thanks Hele, and fist bump to...
