I am writing this as of my most recent appointment on 02/11/2025.
I started the process of getting bilateral gynecomastia surgery 6 months ago. During that time, I explained to Dr. Ching my concerns of the left breast being noticeably bigger than the left. Each time, he recommended we wait until the 6 month mark to reevaluate until the swelling went down. Now, after expressing this issue at each appointment, waiting an hour to be seen for 30 seconds at my most recent scheduling, he has suggested that we go back in to complete the surgery that was not done correctly and that I need to pay another $250 booking fee, be indisposed after receiving more medication to undergo the surgery, either find a friend to drive me back home or use the very expensive transportation service they offer, all on top of the $10,000 that I had already paid to do this process is wild. I'm going to pay again for something that wasn't done right the first time and have no idea if it will be done right the second? No thanks.
The beginning of this process also brought a lot of issues when the business was moving into a new building, and the practice was separated into two buildings. I go to the new building for my appointment and I'm told that I need to go to the old one to get a vest for post surgery. When I arrive there, the doors are closed and locked so I can call the new office to find out what is going on. After another few minutes, some nurses walk out and ask what I'm there for. It looked as though they were just there to pack and move stuff from the old location to the new one. I explained that I told them I was here to pick up a vest that would be provided to me, and they also didn't know what was going on. After complaining to the new office about this, I was offered free units of botox? HUH!? I came to the clinic for gynecomastia and they're trying to sell me on other things that I don't want or need and I know very well that I would also have to pay another $250 booking fee and get transportation for this too. After all of this, I decided to cut my losses and not go to this practice to avoid any more disappointments.
Lastly, I was asked not to write a bad review on google about this, so take that as you will. If you're seriously considering spending thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for any plastic surgery, I would suggest going somewhere else.
UPDATE: 03/05/2025
After I left the office in February, I received a call saying that the doctor would waive the $250 fee just to have him correct the surgery. I did the entire process over again just to wait substantial amounts of time to be seen. Today on March 5th 2025, I waited in the surgery room for over 75 minutes with intense headaches and stomach cramps after being told not to eat before surgery. There was no sign of Dr. Ching and I had to overhear Dr. Long tell another patient that the reason she was in so much pain during surgery was because they underdosed her. This clinic is wildly ridiculous and I would find it hard to believe they have no negative reviews except for the fact that I was called by the executive director who had told me she was only employed their for a month and wanted me to remove my negative review for the privilege of them doing the surgery again. It's no wonder there are no bad reviews when they harass you into making sure their potential clientele don't see anything negative about them.
After 8 months of terrible practice making me wait insane amounts of time and wasting $10,000 I've decided to send them an invoice for the failure to complete the surgery as well as the mental and emotional abuse. I would absolutely give them another terrible review if I could, but instead I will reiterate. DO NOT COME TO THIS PRACTICE IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO BE TREATED WELL AND HAVE A...
Read moreI have been coming to Asia Pacific Plastic Surgery for a few years now. In fact, I first became a client back when Dr. Ching had his office at Queen's POB 3. That alone should be a testament of how professional and fantastic Dr. Ching and his facility are.
Asia Pacific Plastic Surgery is located on the 8th floor of Hale Pawaa. There is valet parking and a ticketed parking structure. The stalls are large and the elevators run often in the structure so you're not waiting forever. Asia Pacific Plastic Surgery does validate your parking ticket for the first hour.
When you get off the elevator, just head to the Diamond Head side of the building. You'll enter into one of the coolest waiting rooms I've ever been in. The check-in desk is on your right. The ladies usually ask to validate upon check-in, so have that parking ticket handy. There are monthly specials displayed on the counter. There is a small refrigerator for you to grab water in the waiting area. Chairs and large ottomans are super comfy to sit in, though the wait is usual short.
This past visit was a pre-op for me. My body needed a little help with a belly button issue that came up a few years ago and Dr. Ching was the one to help me with it.
I first met with the nurse (sorry, I can't remember her name). She went over my history, asked if I knew what was happening, and then went over all the paperwork. She gave me my prescriptions and took down questions that I had for Dr. Ching. She left & returned with Dr. Ching. If you have never met Dr. Ching, you are in for a treat. That man is one of the most gentle & genuine people you could ever know. So, it's a bonus if you choose him to be your doctor! We chatted for a few (as I said, I've been a client for a while), then got down to business. He made sure I understood what was going to happen to my abdominal area & what his expectations were for the surgery. He answered all my questions and clarified anything that I was unsure of. After that, I was brought to another area for my pre-op pics. It was quick. It got me really excited about my upcoming surgery.
The day of my surgery, the team working with Dr. Ching is equally awesome. They made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. They let hubby come in & hang out bedside after I was situated. While waiting, I got to check out the suite. It was immaculately clean, as any operating suite should be. The only difference is that it didn't make me nervous like other hospitals. I'm not sure if it was the wall colors or just the upbeat nurses, but I actually felt comfortable. (If you know me, this is a big deal.) Dr. Ching came in to check on me & again gave me a clear vision of the final result. I was really excited! I was knocked out for surgery, but I was told it went really well. I haven't seen the final work as I am still healing, but I will definitely update!
If you couldn't tell, I will definitely be back to Asia Pacific Plastic Surgery and Dr. Ching. I feel that the care they put into you & your body AND the fact that they care about you is something you don't see much of nowadays. If you are looking for advice or want some help in the lines of plastic surgery, laser hair removal, Botox, or anything else, I definitely...
Read moreI have been frequenting the office for years now, referring friends and coworkers alike. Dr shim Ching is fabulous at his craft. The nurses and anesthesiologists also phenomenal. From the desk staff to the aestheticians, everyone is kind and knowledgeable. Prepping you for preprocedure care and following up on aftercare.
However, the new lymphatic massage therapist, I have to say fails to meet the standard in all counts. Prior to a procedure, she calls my home after 8pm. Proceeds to tell me how important lymphatic drainage is PRIOR to procedure and AFTER. Tell me that without, risk of lymphedema and improper healing will occur. Tells me a story of how it happened to her so that's why she became a massage therapist. Says she's the only one qualified for post surgical lymphatic drainage around. Of course at this point, I'm terrified. Says she will set my appt for the Friday before my Monday surgery. Thurs night she calls me, again after hours and cancels. Said she's scheduled to work at her other job. Sorry, do procedure and I'll see you for follow up. So now I'm nervous. Why schedule me if you know you're working your other job that day? Then scare me into thinking without the massage prior, my recovery will be in jeopardy? Have the procedure and have a follow up scheduled with her. Hours prior, she calls and cancels AGAIN! Says this time we were double booked and she can't stay. Said the office scheduled patients and she scheduled patients on her own without checking both calendars. Then she says she can see me the following week. My nerves are shot. In pain and in the back of my mind filled with the terrors she planted a week prior. I called the office to complain and broke down in tears. They said she had openings showing for the day. That's funny, she told me she couldn't see me at all. At this point, you couldn't pay me to see her. In pain, scared, now angry. Not what I would have expected from this office.
I love this clinic and all they offer but I have to say, if you want your reputation to remain stellar, remove the cancer before it spreads. Heidi will only sour your image. Unprofessional, unorganized, feeding on fear. Not the energy anyone paying this kind of money for...
