Edited 4/12: I tried their Old-fashioned beef (bulgogi) hot pot and green onion pancake with seafood for dinner. Three people can barely finish it. At the same time, it was so delicious that it was hard to not eat it all. Honestly a better experience this time around. Not sure why this place is so popular. To me, it's alright. Saturday lunch special was $25.95 for one healthy purple rice in stone pot (it was in a metal bowl), one main dish (either kalbi, bbq chicken, or choice of grilled fish (mackerel and yellow croaker), and one stew (soft tofu, soy bean or kimchi). It's a hardy meal, however I had egg shells in my soft tofu soup, and the rice quickly got stuck to the sides of the metal bowl it came in. I got the $25.95 lunch special. Soft tofu stew had one clam and one soft boiled egg in it. If it wasn't for the egg shells it would have been pleasant to eat. Purple rice had two pieces of squash in it, taste good, and the bbq chicken was tender, not dry, and good flavor. It was over a bed of round white onions on the hot plate. It was easy to eat. They provide a number of side dishes, all good. If you like fresh kimchi instead of sour, that's what they serve. They also provide hot tea and cold water for the table. Service was busy, but they did their best to watch and serve everyone. Food came out pretty fast considering they were really busy. Atmosphere is a typical korean restaurant, loud kpop music masking the multiple tables of conversation. Restaurant is pretty cold, I believe it's to offset the table cook top heat. Each table have direct ventilation system which helped reduce smoke. Compare to other yakiniku restaurant it wasn't too smokey inside. Entry from waimalu street or from the...

Two 👍👍 up for HANGANG. If you enjoy authentic Korean Barbecue you will love this restaurant. The food is elevated by the taste, ambiance, presentation and variety of the menu to make this a worthwhile dining experience. Our party of 3 chose the medium course menu and were more than satisfied with the amount of food that came. The meat came out with the Hangang name stamped on a piece of beef. The cuts of meat melted in your mouth. There were ten different dishes of banchan from Kim Chee, nammul, mushrooms and choi sum. There was also a course of soup or noodles. Two of us tried the soondabu and my friend tried the naengmyeon cold noodles. The amount of tofu they used was generous in the soondabu and the noodles were refreshing in the icy cold broth. The soup portions were meal sized and you could just have the soup and a bowl of rice for a meal by itself. Everything was delicious. Ambiance: * What a pleasant surprise it was that the restaurant was not smoky! The restaurant was clean and there was not a trace of grease. The decor was modern with a mix of booths and tables. There is ample parking and ADA compliant stalls that are steps away from the doorway of the restaurant. Cost: * The course menus range in price from forty to ninety $. It can seem pricy but if you were to order everything separate it would be much more expensive. The course menus have a wide variety of menu choices which would satisfy anyone. The serving sizes were perfect for our party. Dessert is included.

Good dining experience, however the server did not return with our check right away and seemed to have forgotten our party due to the many tables that he was assigned to. We had to even remind him twice about...

Fantastic Korean Grill House / BBQ and probably best Korean food on Oahu! :)

Food: Super delicious!! You can tell the quality of a restaurant right away by the side dishes/banchan, especially their kimchi, which were all great. Recommend: Marinated Short Rib (Yang-nyum galbi), Hot Pot Rice (Yeong-yang bap), and Lettuce (to wrap the rice, meat, and sauce). If you order the galbi/meat, it comes with free rice and stew, I recommend the soybean paste stew (dweung jang Jjigae)

Customer Service: Ring the bell on the side of the table, and the servers come right away for whatever you need. Even without ringing the bell, they still come and check on you. They were friendly, quick, and attentive.

Atmosphere: I think this restaurant is fairly new ~3-4 months? Everything seemed to be very clean, to include the bathroom, and the table setting was nice. I like their branding on everything from their logo on the mushrooms to the logo on their disposable bib. If you look at the front of the table, there is a drawer with napkins and a disposable bib if you do not want to get your clothes stained. Also, they can get pretty busy at dinner so if you want to be extra sure to get a seat, then make sure to make a reservation!

Price: Reasonable for all the food that comes out. When ordering the meat, it comes with the rice, stew, and side dishes. I thought 1 serving was decent for 2 people (if you do not eat a lot.)

Parking: There is free parking in their designated lots behind the restaurant, or there is also side-street parking as well. If there is absolutely no parking, I think you could park at the Ala Moana Center (near the Nordstrom entrance) and walk since it is...
