What touch me most is we on the first day of our AOW course we went boat dive and there were a fifty something Japanese couples, they are dive master already! And after talking with them, we get to know they took the first dive lesson with sunshine scuba 19 years ago! Read moreHuge thanks to Shima and Lee for helping us pass the open water diving course. The 2-day class is fantastic. On the first day, we went to the lagoon in Magic Island to master some foundations like gearing yourself up, controlling the buoyancy underwater etc. After the confined water practices, I've gained a lot of confidence for the open water the other day. The main takeaway is to show respect to mother nature. To be honest, I feel a little bit intimidated because I could do little under water. Be prepared to sip some salty and bitter sea water and open your eyes as well. We went to the electric beach the next day. It's a lot more fun than the previous one. The water is warmer and more clear. We've spotted a monk seal and two turtles, needless to mention a school of fish. My wife is luckier than me because she saw a shark. But I found some yellow squid which I don't think usually show up in the daytime. We dived to 9 meters and stayed there for 30 minutes. Please remember to continuously breathe and equalize your ears while enjoying the water world. At the end of the dive, I was a bit exhausted so it’s better to bring some snacks to refresh yourself. Apart from the gorgeous aquatic view, Moto, who is the shop owner, also gave us a magic show at the end. I’d say he could make a bank in Vegas. Overvall, the whole experience is great and we’ll definitely come back for the...
Read moreMy wife and I had a wonderful time with the team at Sunshine Scuba. I went in to get my OW certification, which took two days, while my wife got her AOW which only needed one day. Despite being in different courses, knowing that we are together, they made special effort to allow us to dive together during the final shore training dive which we appreciated so much. The instructors were all able to communicate in English, so there was no language barrier at all, and most importantly they were all very professional and patient with us. They really went above and beyond with monitoring our technical abilities, and made suggestions for each individual that were easy to understand. The third day boat fun dive was awesome as well. The underwater sea wreck was absolutely breathtaking, and we were able to see various types of fish and so many sea turtles! Although the weather conditions were not the best, the friendly and patient attitude of the instructors made the experience so enjoyable and fun. For anyone that is looking to get their OW or AOW certification, I would highly recommend this shop. Thank you so much to Yosuke, Lee, Shima and Cheetan for making our experience so memorable! If we ever visit Oahu again, we would love to go diving with you guys...
