We booked our wedding after party at Aloha Beer with their private Hi Brau room.
Long story short: Candice the event manager was very communicative during the booking process we didn’t decide on a final headcount yet but knew it’d be 30-40. We asked about minimum spend and Candice said depends on headcount. She said for example it would be $1650 for 30 guests and it would be $2160 for 40 guests. She said we could let her know a week prior our final headcount. we told her 10 days prior our headcount was 34 and she confirmed receipt. We never asked for an updated min spend because we assumed (bad on us) it’d be somewhere between the two price amounts we showed up at our event and the servers/bartenders (who were very nice btw) said the most recent communication they got from Candice was 40 guests at $2160 spend we paid for the whole thing in good faith (which included $500 “gap pay” for not reaching the $2160 plus tax and 20% tip) and hoped Candice would sort it out with us after. We emailed Candice that night on 1/28. we got a response from Candice on 2/1 that actually the $2160 min spend was for a 30-40 person headcount range. This was shocking news to us because never had she ever said this before up until this point (nor is it correct because she already told us 30 people was $1650). we responded on 2/1 same day. No response. We reached out again on 2/29 and 3/7 asking if there was any compromise we could come to such as a credit for future use. No response at all once again. we called the establishment and got the GM’s email and reached out again on 3/13. Zero response and today is 4/28. We’ve been completely ignored which doesn’t feel good after spending over $2500 at this establishment. I’m not saying we were completely in the right and deserve a refund. All I expected was the respect to at least communicate with us, but we got completely ghosted. Contact me for screenshots I’m happy to share with anyone to prevent another person/bride from going through the same stress and...
Read moreI want to start by saying that we are huge fans of aloha brewing. We used to live next-door and we spent tons of time at this place and watch it grow into a much bigger company with other locations. I will most certainly continue to support the business and the owners of Aloha brewing as I believe that they are good people. I went tonight to have dinner with my children and we did bring our dog because the dog menu is fabulous. We have a dog who was about another dog walking in and barked no more than three times. The manager came over and made me feel so uncomfortable, telling me I needed to go out and take the dog for a walk or do something because I was scaring children. I do Want to emphasize that I was sitting at the table with two young children by myself. Besides the fact that this manager whom I’ve never met before, made us all feel so uncomfortable, that we close at our tab and collected boxes for Our food. I did not even finish my beer. The server was a young woman. She was very rude with absolutely no personality. I have never had such an uncomfortable evening at aloha, and it’s very concerning. As I walked out, I was told by one of the people that works alongside the restaurant, but not the restaurant that there is new management and a few new servers. The reason I’m leaving is because I’m hoping that somebody from the restaurant will see this And hopefully these can be addressed. It’s unfortunate, but it will be a while before I return to...
Read moreJust had a spectacular evening yesterday celebrating our best friend's college graduation with a private party in The Hi Brau Room above Aloha Beer Co. Loved the speakeasy vibes & dark & alluring decor & ambience of this space.
Absolutely 5 stars - I'd rate our experience higher if I could. Our bartender, Berto, had awesome energy & ensured we all had full drinks in our hands in a timely fashion despite our party of 15 people (grouped separately, of course, due to COVID restrictions). He worked with me to make some impressive Fernet Branca & herbal craft cocktails which were all PHENOMENAL. Highly recommend the Rose Session cocktail if you like smoky but citrus-y drinks. Maddy was also quick to get our multiple staggered food orders in & delivered to us quickly. The Bavarian pretzel & the sausage plate were SO GOOD. Everyone was raving about the pizza, too. All in all, the small service team for the evening did a great job handling our moderate sized party & I was impressed by how efficient they were with all the split tabs. Definitely will be coming back again & again for a Girls Day & to bring our Corgi to try the chicken on the "Pup Menu". Grateful for the $4+tip valet service available & such a good deal for the nightmare that Kaka'ako parking usually is! Wish I would have taken more photos to share, but we were just having too much fun & living in the moment, enjoying celebrating the evening...
