Edited: visited again and got their popular/signature drink. From the mocha bar menu, I ordered the lavender blueberry chocolate coffee (hot) comes with two shots of espresso with frothy whole milk. I have to admit, it's very good. Frothy, light, aromatic, and easy to drink. The lavender blueberry flavor is subtle in smell; in taste the flavor is there just not two strong. I recommend everyone to try the mocha bar menu since the chocolate used in the coffee is made in that factory.
My first visit. Cold brew was okay, slightly tangy/bitter, watered down, and cost slightly over $6.00. I still need to try their signature coffees with chocolate mixed in it...will update after more visits.
Note: I think its the lonohana chocolate factory. Sol Cafe is a kiosk within the entrance/ lobby area.
The interior is surprisingly spacious, cozy, and inviting. Appears to be a good place to relax and chill.

Read moreBeautiful shop right around the corner from Lex Brodie's in Kaka'ako and next to Lonohana's chocolate factory. Only stopped in briefly -- was walking by, had no idea this place was here. Didn't order coffee, but Ramiro was very welcoming and offered tasting samples of the Lonomea chocolate bars I was buying as gifts. The waiting room for the chocolate factory tours (right behind the coffee counter) is gorgeously furnished. Very nice atmosphere all around, including the coffee bar seating. Definitely want to go back to try their coffee beverages. I left with 2 choco bars, $16 each + tax. Both bars were dark milk choco (50% cacao); one has dried Hawaii-grown hibiscus flowers ("roselles") and the other has cacao butter infused with jasmine tea. The bars are not too sweet: cacao is the first ingredient, sugar is the second. And the dried hibiscus was not sugary, which...
Read moreThe shop hours are limited so I hadn’t seen it because I’m usually at work when it’s open. It caught my eye on a rare daytime walk. I ordered a salted caramel mocha because, when in Rome… I usually think of mocha as being too sweet. This was entirely different. Not too sweet at all, although you can add more chocolate or sugar if you choose. I chatted with the barista and learned they try out different coffee and chocolate blends, carefully pairing the right sets of beans. They have lots of flavors of chocolate. It’s as local as it gets, with cacao beans from the North Shore. The mocha was excellent. It’s extravagant in price, but under the circumstances it doesn’t seem crazy and it’s a nice treat.
They’ve set up a comfortable lounge space where I gathered they do talks and...
