Update (May 2023): I took away 3-stars due to my disappointment in the product quality. I have had this recliner for 8 months, and it looks WAY older than that. The fabric on the chair is pilling (this started a few months ago, but I am just now getting around to updating my review). When you spend about $1k on a recliner, the fabric of the chair should uphold its integrity for AT LEAST a year, right? But honestly, I feel like for the price, the quality should be better and the chair should age much better than it has. I have had La-Z-Boy recliners in the past (still have one recliner that is likely around 10 years old), and the overall quality seemed to be much better and the material more durable. I would venture to say that my new chair looks like I have had it for about 5 years rather than under 1 year, at this point. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be purchasing another La-Z-Boy anytime in the near future.
Update: La-Z-Boy ended up delivering my recliner at no charge. I did not request this but received a call from an employee who told me and set up the delivery. The chair is high quality and looks even better in person. Guys handling the delivery were efficient and professional. Changing review from 4-stars to 5-stars. Thank you for making the effort to make it right.
Overall, pleasant experience. Business staff was very friendly and not pushy. The only reason I’m not leaving a five-star review is due to some misleading information related to price and the material of the chair (my understanding was I could choose any material for the same price besides performance material - labeled with a green sticker). In the end, I paid the additional for the material I wanted, but I do feel this information could be more transparent on La-Z-Boy’s side. I can understand price increases for power recliner options, etc., but not for an alternative material that is of equal quality/value (was told the only reason for the material increase is because La-Z-Boy will not be able to use material that is pre-cut for the style of the chair, which seems silly for a company that’s using machines to create and cut patterns anyway). All that to say, the staff here is great… La-Z-Boy’s policies, pricing, and transparency—...
Read moreI ordered a recliner and was extremely disappointed in the quality of upholstery and chair mechanisms. Puckered and unraveling fabric, in addition to a poorly fitted back. The back would not even fit in the proper channels. The Lazyboy recliner of today is nothing of what it use to be. I waited almost 4 months to get it and it was defective, poor quality, cheap materials and poorly made. It looked nothing like the floor model I was shown before I ordered it. The manager has refused to refund my money only offering to order another chair. We are not willing to wait another 4 months because they would be 8 months waiting for a chair. There is no guarantee the next chair would be of any better quality because obviously there is poor quality control at the factory or this chair would never have been shipped. When we took it back to the warehouse an employee was able to attach the back after several failed attempts only by bending the metal parts and forcing the two together, which caused the fabric to pucker on both sides of the lower part of chair back. I am giving my experience a one star because there is no option provided for zero stars. We would only be satisfied if we get our money back and if that does not occur, we plan to voice our displeasure with our neighborhood,, church friends and every form of social media...
Read moreWe really feel that we were treated to "bait and switch" tactics for our purchase. We really like the Kincaid chairs that we purchase but there were several things about the purchase process that almost made us walk away. The chair was on sale for virtually 1/2 of the list price and as the salesperson told us, the line was being discontinued but he also said they had 2 in stock which is how many we wanted. Once we decided to go with this model the salesperson came back saying that they only had 1. He did go the extra mile to see if the manufacturer had more material in stock to make us another chair and they did. However, the special order chair would only get the 25% discount (a sale that was in process the day of our purchase). I felt they should have made a little more concession but we said OK. Then he said that the current list price was $100 more than the list price shown on the chair and we would only get the 25% discount from that price. Can you list one price and then charge a higher price, I think Singer would say no! The final rub was that we were told that we REALLY need to purchase a $69/chair fabric protection and warranty, no discount on this package was even offered.
The chair sold itself, the purchasing process left us with a...
