I did not have a good experience today picking up clothes that they decided not to consign. The women behind the counter brought a bag stuffed with my clothes and emptied it onto the counter. The clothing was all wrinkled and tossed together with belts and purses. The clothing came out of what seemed a used laundry bag. I did not originally bring my clothing that I planned to consign in this condition to Greene Street. I had it all folded and staked orderly in shopping bags. When I complained about the order of the clothing, she said that "we don't have time to do that". I said that was a bad excuse. As they go through the clothing, why can't they fold it back into the bag. It doesn't have to be perfect, but at least it's not all wrinkled. Now I plan to consign this clothing somewhere else, but now I need to steam and fold in all again. She got an attitude as I was leaving. What happened to good customer care and service????
I will never consign with Greene Street again, and I do not recommend for this reason and...
Read moreI do not recommend this store and won’t return. The rules for consignment are exhausting and not worth it. I brought a large number of beautiful expensive suits, blouses and dresses, and they were rejected because I was informed “they don’t want business clothes”. This specification isn’t on their website nor in the long, small print contract paperwork. They liked a few dresses, but then I didn’t have the minimum of 10 items to sign a consignment contract. I prefer Plato’s closet buying model, and where they just pay out cash on the spot, with no minimum of item numbers, just one is enough. Green streets rules are just too much trouble in my opinion, and I won’t return. English village is a really nice shopping center and I can’t wait until this disgrace goes away and makes room for...
Read moreI normally have a really good experience taking items for consignment and trade, but this last trip was extremely disappointing. I had over 10 items, including a $500+ Kate Spade winter coat and other higher end items. I was told that only 8 items met criteria…and to “start a contract, and come back with two more items”. No, I’m Sorry. Not happening. You should have just accepted the coat itself which could easily been sold for at MINIMUM $100, instead of wasting my time with a second trip! Are there new staff making these decisions? Do they need additional training on branding and trends? I’ve left with only a designer purse being accepted in the past with far less value. I’ve used up my credits. Will take my business elsewhere! (Coat in photos if anyone would like to...
