I came in today looking specifically for a light coverage foundation or BB cream for the dewy, fresh-faced Korean look, and made my intentions clear.
POSITIVES: When I came in, several staff members asked me if I needed help, and Amanda, the manager , greeted me and told me about special offers. The store was clean, and had a large selection. I later approached Amanda, showing her a foundation product that I liked but was sold out in my shade, and she was happy to help. She knows her products, and did try to help.
NEGATIVES: She called several stores to see if what I wanted was in-stock ( it was not, which is not her fault), and tried to direct me to other products. She did not show me the products directly, and spoke quite fast, which was overwhelming. Overall though, she was fine and was able to listen.
The bad part of the experience was when she called over another clerk ( She was wearing something different and had a clipboard, so I don't know if she was a different kind of sales person) and asked her to help me. Amanda told her the look and products that I wanted, but the woman did not listen. She proceeded to take off my makeup while we stood in the middle store ( not in an open chair, which were plentiful) and while doing so, pulled on my hoop earrings repeatedly ( oww! ). I struggled to take off my earrings as she continued trying to take off my makeup, even though I told her they were getting snagged. I then sat in a chair, and she pulled out a Bare Minerals medium/heavy cover foundation from her clerk bag, and applied that, ignoring Amanda's previous directions. I tried to tell her about my skin needs and what I wanted, but she was quick to cut me off. I attempted to explained EXACTLY the look I wanted, but I felt that she was just trying to sell me a foundation, and did not listen to me. She did a good job applying it, and was knowledgeable, but she did not listen to me. I was not going to be grumpy to her about it, but I was not happy that she did not listen, or try any of the products suggested to her. Read moreThis was the WORST EXPERIENCE i have ever HAD!!!! Makeup was Horrible!!! Shelby was Rude (she said she was store manager. It’s hard to fathom a store manager that is disinterested in customer satisfaction. The young lady that was servicing me had no idea what she was doing. I had to call my sister (who is not a makeup artist) to instruct her on how to properly shade in and shape my brows. She then proceeded to pack on makeup that was the wrong shade. I informed them that i was on my way to a photo shoot for my birthday and the makeup had to be flawless, but instead i ended up looking like i belonged in a casket. When i expressed my disappointment with the final look, they simply said “well it looks good to me”. What about what i think and how i feel? I am the client and i am the one that has to walk around looking like I’m on my way to be buried. They did not offer to remedy the situation. I wiped all of the makeup off before leaving because i could not imagine walking outside looking like that. Read moreOnly rating on my interaction for a return. Staff behind the counter wasn’t friendly. I had issues finding my online order confirmation and ask what exactly did she need in order to process my return…no response, she scanned the item, asked for my phone number. Informed me that it will be refunded back to my Mastercard. Didn’t tell me I needed the actual physical card. I waited thinking that it would be automatically transferred back to my card. I THEN ASKED - DO I NEED MY CARD?!?!? She then finally spoke and said oh yes!!! ABSOLUTELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I’ve never worked in retail and do not know what is what systematically. Refund transferred and I said thank you and she said nothing. Poor decision by putting this young lady behind the counter. The young lady who greeted me at the door was had more professionalism compared to all the other staff there when I browsed around. Nice location. Nice store. Clean store. One nice staff.
