Service is always amazingly good. Food is good, and unlike other businesses in the area that only offer avocado toast for someone plant-based, they can actually get a decent breakfast with pancakes and/or Just Egg omelette here. They even offer vegan sausage as a side. For those who don't eat plant- based, the rest of the menu is for you! They have tasty pairings and really solid offerings that are party always enjoys. The atmosphere is nice, restaurant clean, good parking. Nothing to dislike about this place. The coffee options are very nice and I really enjoy the homemade juices.
7/21/2024 Update My bestie and I eat here on the occasional Sunday, usually arriving not long after opening. Our last two visits haven't been the best experiences. While the coffee remains very good as well as the fresh pressed juices, the food leaves something to be desired and I'm not sure what's going on. My last visit my sausage were completely burnt on one side and I didn't return them only because I didn't realize until I was boxing everything up since I wasn't going to have the sausage until later. We've had things missing from our plates, and simple requests like butter for the English muffin on the side, while acknowledged at the time of ordering were not done when the food arrived. We've had incorrect items given to us and considering I always order the same exact thing every time I come I was surprised to see fruit missing from the pancakes and now there's an up charge for that when in the past my $23 breakfast always included just a small amount of cut fruit on the top of the single pancake, an oat pancake that was dry and now thin, almost feeling cardboard like. We waited quite a bit for our coffee and then waited longer for the carafe of water. We'll be back for the coffee and the juice and perhaps we'll try the avocado toast to share essentially turning this into our comfortable coffee shop, but considering we usually spend $70 to $80 without tip, we'll probably just bypass the food completely...
Read moreNew review after revisiting 6/26/23: A bit underwhelmed. Took about 15 minutes to get seated, the usual for decent breakfast spots in town. Ordered an Annie's frozen lemonade, server cut me off halfway through saying which lemonade and brought a regular one. Told her politely which one was ordered she said she'd have the right one up asap and came back at one point to assure me she didn't forget. The food came out, at this point. Still no frozen lemonade. Virtually 1 cut up strawberry, a very, very light hand of Graham cracker dust, and a tiny dash of sweet cream made up this "strawberry cheesecake French toast". Very dry, besides the last piece which didn't have the egg cooked in all the wayđ¶ Then, here comes the frozen lemonade and the apology for the delay because its backed up! But, wait! It's visibly separated in the glass, so that apology was kind of lame tbh because you were cool serving me that, despite how busy/ not busy. Literally puts it on the table, says sorry and asks if there's anything else she can do, yes, would you be so kind as to make me a new one? This one looks a bit rough. Rolls eyes to go make one, brings me an icy strawberry water, let's call it. I just ended up asking that to come off the check. Ate most of the French toast because I was quite hungry. Also didnt really want to have a whole conversation with the manager about why everything was either sub par or unacceptable. Went to go get change/pay up front and save my server the trouble from walking to and from the table for the cash and change since she said it was all backed up and busy and got an eye roll for that even. I feel like this place is hyped up for...
Read moreI was excited about the idea of having lunch here, but was disappointed early, and throughout my visit.
We thought this could be a nice alternative to Iron HIll, but....
The restaurant did nothing to impress me during my first visit there, but nearly did everything to cause me to not return. To be fair, I will return and give them another chance. Maybe.
Our server asked us if this was our first time there, and we acknowledged that it was. (this is important, because while all customers deserve equal treatment, first time customers need to be won over - and won over well). Think about how Apple wins over their customers and what that does to brand loyalty!
After 25 minutes, our server informed us that there was a "mix up" and our order would be coming out, "here is some fruit to hold you over", she said. She apologized, and apologized again later, but I came away thinking that her apology was less than genuine.
Fine. Mix ups happen.
I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap. I got a regular chicken wrap. That's it. By now, I was a bit beyond annoyed. Ate 1/4 of the wrap and waited, as she said, "I'll get your check.."
The restaurant strikes me as an establishment that is mildly overrated, the staff, perhaps a bit unfocused. When you have a first time guest visit your establishment, you may have one chance to win them over. A disingenuous apology -and fruit in place of a timely delivery of lunch is not great service. You botch a meal for a first timer, you send a manager for the mea culpa! If possible.
We will give the place...
