First time customer. Opted for an early dinner at about 3:00PM so hardly any customers. Place is pleasant looking, attention paid to sanitation. Server (sorry not to have remembered her name) but wholly professional as was another server who noted my empty iced tea and refilled it. I respect teamwork.
This place for a steakhouse is not inexpensive AND it is neither in the category of Texas Roadhouse (on the low end) or Ruth's Chris (on the very high end). Still a 12 oz. rib eye at $33.50 reasonably creates expectations that the quality and preparation will match the asking price. It didn't. It was ordered medium and came out medium more toward medium well. I politely asked the server to remain table-side while I cut the steak to determine if it had been delivered as ordered. I found it acceptable. The good news first; it was appropriately seasoned. The not-so-good-news; it was tougher than I expected from a rib-eye which is usually well marbled and inclined to be tender. The accompanying au gratin potatoes were tasty and hot, if not particularly eye-pleasing.
I asked if there were steak sauces available and got the standard answer for a chain restaurant: Heinz 57, A-1 Sauce, Worcestershire. At this price point I would hope for an available bernaise or bordelaise.
In short, there is nothing to distinguish this restaurant, no differentiators that would cause me to anticipate another visit - pretty much the definition of average - hence the 3 stars.
This is a follow up review to the one written about a year ago. Following my experience as reported above, I was contacted by Firebird management and offered a gift certificate and an invitation to try the restaurant again. It took about 6 or 7 months to avail myself of the privilege, and happy I chose to do so.
The place was clean, the atmosphere very pleasant. Also noticed no loud music or other distractions. Restaurant staff were moving about with purpose and the teamwork I had previously remarked on was still very much in evidence. (The main course was delivered by a kitchen 'runner' as opposed to my server to ensure it was delivered hot and perfectly plated). I had looked at the menu online before entering, noting a 3 course special that included choice of salad, main entree and dessert for $39.95. I was looking forward to my prime rib. When I perused the menu I noted that the prime rib was not listed as an option for that menu feature and inquired accordingly. My server, Annika, responded that indeed the prime rib was available on the 3 course pre fixe. She was gracious and attentive.
If management would like some feedback as to the value of inviting a previously less than satisfied customer back for another round, accompanied by a gift certificate, then please note in this instance the answer is a resounding affirmation. Your confidence in your operation is well-founded.
The BLT salad was perfect, crisp, cold, attractively tossed. The prime rib, ordered medium, arrived textbook medium. Also tender and very tasty, and I estimate at least 12 oz., so more than satisfactory for a serious appetite. The bread pudding (and for the life of me I can't remember the flavor) was flawless, one of the best, not overburdened by a cloying sweetness - really just a great ending to a fine meal.
Please accept my sincere thank you for offering me an incentive to try Firebird once more. I'm more than pleased to report that I'll definitely be back.

Read moreWhere to begin? We set up a reservation here for our 5 year wedding anniversary and couldn’t be happier with the choice. When we entered the restaurant we were told that our table was being prepared and that they would notify us once it was ready. My wife and I made our way over to the bar for the Honey Ginger Smash….bar was set VERY high right out of the gate. Absolutely delicious drink: Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon, Domaine De Canton Ginger Liqueur, honey, fresh-squeezed lemon and a splash of club soda…DAMN GOOD! We also had the chance to speak with the GM Andrea. She was refreshing and energetic. She made several recommendations and was spot on with all she recommended. She was also very accommodating throughout the dinner!
Our table was ready so we made our way over to the hostess stand to be seated. We were sat promptly and met by one of the greatest waitresses we have had, Izzy (Isabelle). She was energetic, helpful and absolutely fantastic at her job. If you can request a waitress, go with Izzy!
We started the meal with cheese steak egg rolls that were awesome to say the least. The addition of Thai chili and hot mustard sauce was a great choice and these are definitely a repeat buy.
We placed our order and had some champagne while we waited. We never felt rushed or pestered and truly felt like Izzy went the extra mile to make our anniversary extra special. After the last year it was truly an amazing experience.
Dinner soon hit the table, I went with the surf and turf while my wife went with steak and shrimp. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. HIGHLY recommend the mashed potatoes! They were silky and cheesy and a perfect compliment to the meal. We also got a side of the slaw which is another repeat buy FOR SURE! The entree was fantastic and Izzy guided us down every right path!
Then to finally wrap up the meal we ended with the CREME BRULÉE CHEESECAKE! As great as it sounds….they also wrote Happy 5 years on the plate.
From beginning to end we had outstanding service and great conversations with the GM and waitress. We will be back here again and again.
Andrea and Izzy…you rocked! Thank you for making our anniversary...
Read moreThis was an extremely disappointing experience. I had such high expectations for this restaurant based on the reviews, and the fact that parking lot is always full even on a Tuesday night! I ate there tonight, 6/27/2023.
PROS: The server was a sweet girl. The ambiance is great. Seems like a great place to meet friends for drinks. The steak was good. My friend had the shrimp and said it was properly cooked.
CONS: The server was not very attentive. She never cleared the used dishes from the table until near the end of our meal. Getting drinks refilled took way longer than it should have for a Tuesday night. We ordered the Lobster Spinach Queso ($17), and it was watery like a soup, not creamy and thick like a dip. It poured off of the chips like water. I ordered the surf and turf (over $60 meal), and the lobster tail was bredded and deep-fried!!! I didn't even know that was a thing, and it tasted of greese as it was overcooked. My side of mashed potatoes was warm, not hot, and just plain regular mashed potatoes with no gravy or garnish or anything. My friend ordered the red snapper ($30 meal), and it was overcooked and dry. It had to be cut into with the knife. We ate our food because I was so disappointed already, there was no point in sending it back. The server was pregnant, and I felt bad. I picked at the deep-fried lobster tail and my friend ate the overcooked fish.
RECOMMENDATION: I was definitely expecting good quality food and service. That is not what I received. The food was overcooked and just meh 😕. Overall, it's 2.5 stars for ambiance. Other than that, it's over priced, the food is just ok at best, and it's just not worth the hype. I don't have pics of my food because the presentation wasn't great either 😐. I recommend...
