I am appalled at the experiences I have encountered at this park. First of all, in no way shape or form would I call this a family-friendly place as whoever runs this park allows the parents to scream profanity and talk in such a manner that I would never let my child play here again. Oh, let me mention this was a Tball game with the players being 5 years of age and the ones being screamed and cussed at while playing on the fields by who I assume are their parents?? That is unacceptable and should never be an issue at a Tball game!!!! Secondly, I don't know what the issue is with the staffing of the umps, but if we are gonna let teenagers ump the games at least ensure they are educated in the sport and rules and can handle a simple call or small tiff. Never have I ever been to a field where they allow one parent from one team to keep up with the books while another parent from another team handles the scoreboard?? Yet, we wonder where half of the issues come from when no one can agree on a scoring issue or lineup issue. I'd say lets rely on the umps but again they are so young and unable to handle or resolve conflict much less keep up with what is going on on the field! On multiple occasions, I have seen exceptions be made for one team, but not made for another with the excuse given "It's the rules". How convenient that we can bend them in one instance but not the next. I'll sum this up with my biggest issue being that children are there to play ball and have fun, not for children to be walking off the field crying from confusion that the adults supervising them created or to come home with a newfound potty mouth because this park can not hold parents accountable for there actions. Kimery would throw some of these parents out of the park for half of the way they act...
Read moreIt is a nice facility. But just attended a Regional All-star tournament there for 7U and 8 U All-stars and have to say it was absolutely the very WORST umpires I have ever seen at ANY level of baseball. I watched games on 3 of the fields and each set of umpires were terrible. Saw many bad calls. I'm the first person to defend umps, they ARE going to miss some calls, but this was beyond awful. Missing calls is one thing, but not even knowing basic rules of baseball is totally different. Cal Ripkin baseball should be ashamed of allowing this type of officiating at a tournament of this level. I'm betting not a single ump was certified. Most looked like teens...
Read moreI will say that the park is great. Parking - not so great. Also, vast confusion led to me buying tickets to the wrong side of the park. I've been 3 times, and twice the entire park was open, but the last time, it was locked in the middle - so be sure you enter where your age group is playing.
My son got a hot dog from the concession stand that had a molded bun. That was the only real reason for 4 stars. If someone is paying attention, it's pretty obvious to spot...
