My best friend and I drove down from Bentonville for the day and we were looking at Google for good vegetarian options for lunch. I saw how highly this place was rated and I always scout menus before going to restaurants. I saw the Jungle Bowl and knew I need to look no further. We walked in and it's a cute, fun little place with ordering at the counter and their house juice bar connected "next door" with an opening between and seating available in both areas. I didn't even look further at the menu (but had seen online many vegan and vegetarian options for my friend) and ordered the Jungle Bowl. My friend ordered the Casita salad. I couldn't skip on the fresh juice, and neither should you! After sampling the Pure Pineapple, a beet drink, and the Green Envy went with the Green Envy. And it was out of this world!!
My jungle bowl, loaded with a wide variety of local mushrooms, brown rice, 2 types of onions, leafy greens, black beans, and vegan cilantro dressing was SINFULLY good! And a ton of food. After tasting my friend's Casita (a salad with mixed greens, black beans, colored peppers, avocado, feta, and cilantro lime aoli) I was floored, how could hers be even better than mine? Because mine was ridiculous! My Jungle Bowl was also massive and heavy, so I was thinking I may should have gone with a salad so I didn't get tired. But I stopped before I got tired and despite the fact that the flavor was so rich and addictive that I could have eaten way paste the point of comfort and enjoyed every second, but I wouldn't have the energy for the day.
Later that day and just now for lunch, I was so glad I didn't order the Casita instead. I took the food with me and snacked on it off and on the rest of the day. And I just had the rest of it for lunch. My friend's finished most of her salad and had to snack on nuts. I made the right choice. I'm going to have to attempt to copy the salad at home since we live 4 hours away, but next time we come to Hot Springs, we will for SURE be back. My friend was so impressed as well and she says she almost never orders salads at restaurants because she makes great salads at home. But she is SO glad she did! We are so disappointed we don't have these dishes at home.
The staff is very warm and the vibes here are excellent! This is an experience we won't not only not forget, but we also won't stop talking about for a long time. "Mmmm I wish we were having Cafe Mi Amour right now." Mouths salivating. We are big goodies and this blows food in our foodie town at home out of the water!!
**I took the pics to text back home, not for a review so the food is half eaten and I'd finished all the mushrooms...and trust me, every bite of the dish is good, even after the mushrooms...

During our recent visit to Hot Springs, Arkansas, we stumbled upon Cafe Mi Amor, a delightful Cuban cafe that left a memorable impression on us, despite some minor drawbacks. The decor of the cafe was charming and inviting, creating a warm atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
We ordered the mushroom and spinach dish, and I must say, the flavors were quite impressive. The mushroom had a bold and unique flavor that was so rich, it almost made me question whether I was tasting beef instead! This unexpected twist was a pleasant surprise. We also tried the avocado toast served on a Cuban roll, which was perfectly toasted and drizzled with a smooth dressing that complemented the dish beautifully.
One of the standout items was the cortadito. It was creamy and had a smooth flavor that elevated our dining experience. Being from Miami, we were thrilled to find such an authentic Cuban offering in a place like Hot Springs.
However, I do want to mention that our experience may have been influenced by the holiday weekend crowds. The wait time for our food was close to an hour, and we had already finished our drinks by the time our meals arrived, making it feel even longer. Additionally, the cafe could benefit from improved ventilation, as two members of our party had to step outside for some fresh air.
Overall, Cafe Mi Amor offers a delightful dining experience with flavorful food and a cozy atmosphere. Just be prepared for potential wait times, especially during busy periods. We left pleased and satisfied, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Cuba...
Read moreTook myself on a breakfast date here while the spouse was busy. Spent $35 for a medium Toasted Coconut Cubano (w/ extra shot), Cuban Delight breakfast and 20% tip so as people said, it's expensive, but I did get two solid meals out of it. The food: Coffee was very smooth and quality, but this drink did not showcase it's boldness. If you love strong coffee, explore other options. The lechon and potatoes were good, but not slap-the-table, see-the-face-of-God good like the beans were. I ended up spooning the beans on everything on my plate like a certified heathen. The service: Slow but friendly. The kitchen is small, everything looks made pretty much one-at-a-time and there was a large group ahead of me so no stars deducted. If time is a priority, I know enough to go to a drive thru. Ambiance: Such a vibe except a guy that worked there seemed irritated about something. Sir, we all have things we could be annoyed about but it's a beautiful, quiet Sunday Morning. Have you tried the beans? They'll instantly make you feel better, I promise. Sound carries through that building so it's not quiet, but the music was a good volume and perfect for setting that "treat yo'self" breakfast mood. Overall, the only reason this gets 5 stars but doesn't make it into my staple rotation for breakfasts is the price (this economy tho). It is added to special occasions and places I plan to take guests when they come visit, but stay mindful their seating is limited so if you have to wait for a table and service is slow, just order double beans and everything will be...
