Sands Central Inn — Hotel in Hot Springs

Positives: The staff was very nice No signs of roaches or bed bugs Clean linens (you'd think that would be standard, but I've found a lot of budget hotels don't change the linens between guests) Room doors open directly outside, which is nice if you smoke Decently clean (more on that below) Negatives: Beds have only sheets and a thin comforter Pillows are very flat The toilet had not been cleaned under the seat, urine and pubic hair were present Over all, it's a good place to stay. The rooms may be a little dated and shabby, but everything worked as far as lighting and plumbing (we didn't use the tv, so I can't comment on that ). All surfaces were clean and free of dust. The tile had been swept and the carpet vacuumed. If you want modern furnishings, this place is not a good fit. If you want a place to sleep for the night while passing through or while spending your days exploring Hot Springs, I'd recommend...

After staying at the Days Inn on Central, going through the process of getting our money back, leaving, riding around and searching for a new hotel, the Sands Central Inn was a welcome relief. It's not a 4 or 5-star as it only offers the basics. However, if you're looking for a clean, decent place to stay that is close to the action of Hot Springs (seems to be in the middle of downtown and other things to do), you will enjoy this establishment. Amenities include a pool, microfridge, good air, and cleanliness. TVs are old model and there's no iron with board. We had 2 double beds. To start with we paid $80 for 1 room for a Friday night stay. When we get to our room there was a bad stale, musty odor. I was wondering why we passed so many rooms with doors opened when we arrived. Very cheap air-conditioning system.You could hear every sound from outside through the walls. Mattresses were old, cheap and ours was broken and wore out. Very cheap quality bedding on the beds and thin, cheap pillows. The bathroom was gross. Dirty and out of date, very small. Was afraid to take a shower in it.
