Capri Motel — Hotel in Hot Springs

Super sketchy. Bums? Yep. Hookers? Yep. Suspicious activity? That is an understatement. My boyfriend and I were on a road trip over 4th of July weekend. We knew we would be coming in to Arkansas late so we were just going to stay outside hot springs just for the night. Of course everything was booked up except the super expensive stuff and I wasn't gonna pay 200 bucks for 12 hours. So I was super excited when this place had a vacancy for $57. All I was hoping for was a place to shower and clean sheets. I've stayed in bad places before but this was awful. The towels were dirty and all stained up. We used clean t-shirts to dry off with. The sheets on the bed had blood stains on them. We just slept on the top blanket because it seemed clean. I wouldn't use the pillows because they looked pretty scary too. There was a fridge in the room that I had to plug in and turn on when we got there. The window above the toilet just slid open. No lock. No screen. Just a push would open it even from the outside. There was one room that just left there door open and quite a few people came and went in a very short period of time. We had some guy knock on our door at 1am looking for some chick who "hung out there a lot". And a bum slept in the parking lot on an old mattress. We would have been better off grabbing a tent and heading...

We have stayed in many cheap motels, but never this bad. The manager is an old friendly hippie, and that's the best thing about this motel. The rooms are small and dirty. There are sticky stuff on the walls. The bathroom smells as bad as a public bathroom. The towels are thin. The bagged shampoos do not open. The tub is stuffed with previous guests' hair and other body junk you can imagine. The A/C works well, but the the bed, oh dear... the bedding has previous guests' hair on it. There is a rip in the blanket, and it appears to be dirty. The mattresses are not at all comfortable. The TV is okay, and there are a fridge and a microwave oven that look like are from the 80s. The carpet is very dirty, and there is no cleaning crew can be found. I'm sorry, it takes a lot more than friendliness in order to get...
