Unfortunately, this is one of the worst experiences I ever had. My husband and I came here for our anniversary and the waitress that greeted us immediately told us that we should have come through a different door, on a different street, even though there was a door unlocked on the street we were walking on that signaled this specific spot.. She also spent longer than necessary checking my husband's ID as if he were really under age (he is 38 years old...very obviously so). Not only did we not have a good initial contact, but she continued by gossiping with the bar tenders around her and talking about how they needed to implement a dress code and inform people to come in through the right door. My husband and I were not dressed up...we were dressed pretty casual...thinking...it's a Friday night...this place is new...and it only has 17 reviews. Not much of a risk or concern, right? No. We were treated like garbage and still left a $20 tip... because that is a fraction of who we are. Thanks, Heist for being kind, respectful, and accommodating. I mean that with the sincerest sarcasm.
I hope you guys learn from tonight, because your attitudes and demeanor were not appropriate or any kind of acceptable. You should not be operating a business if you cannot treat people with decency, no matter what you perceive them to be. I highly don't...
Read more2 stars, only because the drinks were good and the bar tender was friendly. My wife and I walked in via the door on Central and were informed by the hostess that we should come through the front door next time as the door we came in is not an entrance. She seemed taken aback by our walking in dressed casually but not cheaply. She was cold toward us and made us feel far from welcome.
We overheard the hostess telling another employee that they need to put a dress code on the door. I agree. While the dress code of "business casual" is posted clearly on the website, it is nowhere I've been able to find on Google, thus we didn't know what to expect. I recommend The HEIST clearly articulate the dress code they expect their paying customers to abide by.
This was a terrible experience for my wife and I, in town celebrating our anniversary. There were 5 other people in the place when we arrived, including the staff, so it felt very dead and after the treatment we received, I can see why few people were there.
I hope The HEIST takes this seriously and addresses how their customers are treated as the concept has great potential. Just...
Read moreHad a great time at The Heist! It’s a great spot with a great small bite menu. I’d say their small bite menu was better than the appetizer menu downstairs at the Vault. Upon walking in we were warmly greeted by Bea and my wife was honored to have her ID checked. Made her feel young again!
Atmosphere was amazing and Bea suggested we sit in her favorite spot which gave us two views of Central ave. The couches and chairs were super comfy and we had three different waitstaff check in on us through the evening and all were super nice and friendly.
The space had quite a few unique areas all decorated beautifully. I can’t wait to come back and try out some of the other spaces designed for larger groups.
Bea is a huge asset to this place and made us feel at home. She offered to take pictures of us and helped to make our night even more special. Can’t wait to come back…it’s so nice to have a classier, unique space like this in Hot Springs since Central seems littered...
