The Historic Malco Theatre — Local services in Hot Springs

I feel cheated. It was a basically a children’s birthday party magic show. It was $50.00 extra per person to add to our tour package. Billed as lunch and a show. This theatre has no business hijacking a restaurant venue. After a long wait in line they shoved a cold Blt sandwich, bag of chips and a coke in a round popcorn tub and told us to take a seat in the “skinny” theatre seats to eat our lunch. And wait for the show. Then seats were oversold and we, who had combo tickets were being asked to move because other people were sold tickets with seat numbers. “Our” seat numbers and we and many others needed to move. Give yourself time for some refreshments in a small tavern area… or get the kids prepped with sugar and treats in the concession line. Two different spaces.

The theater has been restored and is lovely. They have normal theater goodies as well as a bar. We saw Maxwell Blade perform and it was a delightful mix of music, magic, comedy and illusion. We have a large truck so parking was a bit problematic but there is plenty of metered street parking. All in all a great night out for...
