Okay, I've been patient. I've shopped, I've reflected, I've shopped again, I've reflected, and now- the regret is real. I am never shopping here again. I will start with the few positives I can muster. They have a pleasant layout. Clothing is kept in neat arrangement and sizes are orderly. The merch is curated, not overwhelming to browse.
They use an orange scented air freshener that smells great in their store. This is important when something very suspect smells like wet shrimp shells. I was there and another shopper was equally embarrassed because we couldn't figure out the source, but the orange spray saved us.
That's it. The rest of my experience is right in line with others, but with a twist: their clothing is in horrible condition. Three times - THREE - I have bought a sweater. Checked it over as much as I could in-store. Brought it home, put it in a delicates-wash bag, and then I see: holes, stains, unraveling threads, and endless lint-fuzzies that come from ancient synthetic fibers.
Do these people believe that buying vintage means they get to take your money and you get nothing in return? Maybe 'vintage' is French for 'stupid sucker'? The stuff they sell is sometimes attractive to me, but the end result is always the same: Poor quality, probably decades old and some wise consignor knows that CT will take their garbage pile. I would give anything to see the clothing that some of the reviewers have stated they tried to sell. I would love to buy decent clothing, and give it a new life, while also being a minimalist and not accumulating a bunch of rags that end up being donated the following day. But no...not here. Their prices aren't horrible, but then again, stuff is unwearable, so essentially it is like theft. I won't wear clothing that is disintegrating, even for $15.
The staff are so obviously trying to be aloof. It's a little embarrassing. Maybe they think this elevates the shopping experience, but no...no it doesn't. I agree that the male SA and the others are all equally non-hoot-giving, and it shows. It's sad because I think this store will not make it with all this negative hype; you don't need to read these reviews, because it's always, consistently this way - everyone will experience the negative stuff, so I guess we just will sit back and watch this...
Read moreI have said on many occasions that I'll never visit this store again but kept returning because I'm a thrifter. I like one of a kind pieces at a good price. This store has the worst customer service of anywhere I've ever shopped not just thrift but anywhere. I never write reviews but the customer service is so bad here it's worthy of this compliant. I will never shop here again and that's a promise. Got here on Sat at 4:45 to sell and was told they stop buying at 6:00 and there was quite a few buys ahead of me. According to the check in pad there was 3 ahead of me and she was working on 1 of them (I know this because I asked). She being short Caucasian woman with short hair mohawk styled. She told me I could leave my items and they would get to them by the same time tomorrow. She said they had 24 hours to check out my items and I could come back at 4:45 the next day. I then asked if I was the last buy today why wouldn't I be the 1st buy tomorrow? She told me because other people would be bringing their sells in also and they go in the order received. If I'm the last on Sat to sell and u can't get to me why wouldn't I have to wait a whole 24 hours? Why wouldn't I be the 1st the next day? Her explanation made no sense to me...none. I decided to take my items to Buffalo Exchange they bought almost all of my items and the service is top tier. There is a guy who works here also who's extremely rude. What's funny about that is he was really nice when he worked for Buffalo Exchange. I guess their standards must be higher. I would never advocate for someone to lose their job but if I was this business I would lose bad employees before I lose my customers. From the looks of the other complaints it seems like they just don't give a damn. I will say that I frequent the store in Dallas (because I live between both cities) and it's a totally different experience. The associates there are extremely nice and helpful. Looking to sell or buy try Buffalo Exchange, Pavement or Crossroads DALLAS but steer clear of this store and it awful customer service. Lastly I will say it's not all their employees there are some very nice girls here also but 2 rotten apples will spoil the...
Read moreI sold clothes here several years ago and always found them to be reasonable and courteous. Recently came in with multiple full bags of clothes. Only one person on sign in list ahead of me but after waiting 20 minutes and seeing no change in the list (and no one processing sellers), I asked if they knew when they might get to me. I was told about 20 minutes. Headed out to run quick errand knowing I'd get a text. Less than 5 minutes after I left, I get a text they are ready for me so had to turn right around.
After reviewing my clothes, the buyer calls me and says they will not take anything because not the brands they are looking for. Really? I reviewed their list of preferred brands and I had multiple items including those brands, all in great condition.
I then had to return 3 heavy bags back to my car in multiple trips as I could not carry everything or park nearby. Even though I was clearly struggling, none of their multiple employees offered to assist.
To top it off, when I returned home and resorted the clothes, I noted that they did not return a purse I had included in one of my bags. So no only did they not buy anything, they actually kept one of my items without compensating me!
Inconsiderate, dishonest and apathetic. No need to waste more time...
