Post Oak Grill — Restaurant in Houston

What a disappointment! Five family members all ordered different items. I'm not sure how the "bread" was prepared. It reminded me of the canned bread products in the grocery refrigerator section, molded into cubes and cooked. Our server apologized at least twice for the delays in our order. My pork tenderloin was hard. I had three bites. The potatoes, beans and carrots were good. NY strip was tough and chewy. Three cheese raviolI was "just ok". The lamb lollipops were "ok" and the sea bass was "good." We all ordered dessert - 3 Chocolate mouse cakes, one cheesecake and 1 key lime pie. The desserts came with a yellow fluid around the edge - no idea what it was. Cheesecake was a slab of cake with three blueberries, not a hint of whipped cream. Key lime pie, with three blueberries on top, tasted almost the same as the cheesecake. Mouse cake.. "just OK." The desserts were consistent with fast food take out. The dining room was attractive but uncomfortably cold- even with a jacket. I would have liked to see suggestions for more specialty alcoholic beverages - we all would have ordered. The server was polite and attentive. He does need a little more time to become familiar with all the nuances of the menu. I was excited about a new restaurant in our area but...

I tried the fish tacos and was truly impressed. The fish was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with a fresh flavor that really stood out. The tortillas were soft and tasted homemade, and the toppings like cabbage, creamy sauce, and a splash of lime brought everything together beautifully.
