Part two As we were waiting, he returned and informed me that I would need another cosigner because both my credit and my friend’s credit were not good. Of course, it wouldn’t be good because they kept running my credit, which was causing my credit score to decrease. I didn’t ask for another cosigner, but I eventually found someone else. My cosigner returned and informed me that he wouldn’t be able to do it because they had an open out-of-the-auto loan. I didn’t know that, but I was okay. I found someone else, and it went through, but he needed more information. I tried my best to get the information, but he told me that the numbers weren’t matching up. I told him that I didn’t know how much they get paid. I’m following their instructions, but he’s getting upset and argumentative. I’m apologizing as if I did something wrong, even though I know I didn’t. He’s having to go back and forth, which is frustrating, I understand.

One of the people who got approved was my mother. She provided all the necessary information, including her Social Security number, driver’s license, and check stubs. She mentioned that she’s only been with the company for seven months since she recently returned to work. He assured us that it doesn’t matter as long as she’s making money.

The second person I approved was my younger brother. He makes enough money at his job, but he receives a monthly settlement and large lump sums at the beginning and middle of the year. I informed him that it was an insurance settlement, but he insisted that I get an approval letter. I went home and obtained the paperwork, which he has and will receive the money.

However, when I returned, he claimed that he couldn’t use it because it was insurance, which made no sense to me. Insurance is still another form of income, and I used mine when I purchased the Malibu from the dealership. I used the same life insurance settlement on the Malibu that I received two years prior.

I’m confused because I’ve been at the dealership for a while now. I arrived at 9 a.m. when they open and left at 12:30 p.m. with no vehicle, effectively wasting almost my entire day. I messed up my credit just to be told no. After being informed that everything looked good with the previous cosigner and that I only needed the money, it deeply hurt me. However, what truly bothers me is the feeling that he kept getting increasingly upset, even though he claimed not to be. I could sense an underlying issue. By the way, he used phrases like “you gave me all these people with bad credit” and “you had me doing five different cosigners,” which I didn’t request or expect. I thought we were following the plan, which began with a down payment of $2,000 on Friday. Something in my gut told me that it was too good to be true to return to the dealership.

That experience was disappointing, but I had hoped it wouldn’t be like last time two years ago, so I gave them another chance. However, it only confirmed my suspicions. To top it off, he said, “This is all over the place,” as if it wasn’t my fault. I didn’t expect this to happen today. I expected to come, give them the money, and test the vehicle. I didn’t even test drive the vehicle when I asked to do so. He said they had to ensure everything went through, but I noticed that a customer who came after me went to another associate and didn’t receive any information. They simply told him about the car they were looking at and wanted a test drive, which they did. I saw other associates around me happily interacting with their clients and asking them if they wanted to test drive the vehicle, and I felt left out.

At the end of the day, I understand that it’s not the salesperson’s fault. The bank has the final say in approving or disapproving the loan. They don’t have the authority to make decisions. They’re just doing their jobs, but the way they’re telling me and giving me false hope is...

Part one So, my experience was not particularly good in the beginning. It was good, though. They were hyping me up with all this wishful thinking, hoping for something and telling me to keep up. Hope. But let’s start from the beginning. I was even thinking about trading in my vehicle or going to a dealership. I wasn’t planning on getting another car or doing anything, but then I got a call while I was at work. They wanted to help me get into a car I wanted. It was Friday around 6 o’clock. I spoke with Cam. He’s a really nice guy. He told me he was going to help me get into the car I wanted because I had a bad experience with this dealership before.

So, I drove up to the dealership right as I got off work, around 7:30 p.m., or close to eight. I was met by a guy named Jamar. I told him I spoke with Cam, but he said he was with a customer and wanted to help me. Okay, cool. I told him what Cam and I had already talked about: I wanted to trade in my car, and he was going to help me trade in my car. Mind you, I had already explained to Cam that I owed on the car and didn’t have any money for a down payment. But he said he was going to help me with the trade-in, and it was zero down payment. It was exciting to hear. So, it intrigued me, and I wanted to do it. He said he could see what he could do. He offered me a Kia K5 GT, mind you. I wanted a Honda Accord, but the Kia K5 was speaking to me because it was nice. It was a beautiful car, so I gave them all the information for my vehicle: how much I owed on it, my vehicle payments, my social security number, and my driver’s license. He ran my credit.

He came back to the table, and I said, “I’m going to need a cosigner.” Okay, cool. I got a cosigner. We’ll have to do some paperwork. He came back and said, “I need you to put $2000 down.” I told him that I had already told Cam that I didn’t have the money for a down payment, and he was going to try to work with me. He did instruct me to give him until Monday and not to lose hope. However, I had hope because the car was in my sights. So, Saturday arrived, and I contemplated it. I wondered if they would be open on Memorial Day because I knew they were closed on Sunday, so I didn’t want to bother them. Therefore, I waited until late afternoon to call them and check on the status of the car. I spoke with another gentleman, and he informed me that Cam would call me to provide an update. However, I never received the call, and they closed. So, I decided to wait and see what they could do to help me get the car with a zero down payment.

Sunday came, and by the grace of God, I was able to come up with the money for the down payment. I took it upon myself to gather the money for the down payment, as they had requested. I arrived on Monday and informed him that I had the $2000 that they needed. All he told me was that they needed a down payment. They had already checked my credit and my friend’s credit on Friday, but when we arrived on Monday, they ran it again. They ran it at least five to eight times, which puzzled me because they had already run my credit and told me I needed to bring the...

Tried to help my sister and neice not get taken advantage of by a dealership while I was in another state. They test drove various cars, decided what they liked told me and I went searching. Identified the car we wanted on Honda's CPO site. It was a 2025 CR-V Hybrid in Blue, Sport-L, HondaTrue Certified with 1070 miles.Perfect. I confirmed it on the easyhonda website. Made the call. Called and spoke to Schelsy. Worked out a price, sent it off to my sister and niece. They went and got the financing. Everything looked good...until they showed up on Monday. Strike 1 She gets there and they said that Schelsy no longer worked there.

Strike 2 Then they try to renegotiate the HondaTrue certification and charge my sister a "certification fee" of $2000 more than the LISTED PRICE. She called me, I told her on speaker phone in front of them to walk out. They are messing with you and trying to lie, walk out. So she did....they tried to say they would do it at cost for $900. I told her to tell them they are lying and trying to bait and switch the advertised price. Walk out. Then they said...Schelsy did the paperwork wrong and that they were "willing" to forego the costs of the HondaTrue certification (as advertised on their site AND Honda's Certified pre-owned site.

My sister ran off to get the check from NavyFederal and came back with what they had agreed to before Strike 3.

Strike 3 After messing with my sister they "assesed" her trade in on a 2017 Mercedes Benz. They offered her $8400 and a net of about $4400 after paying the note off. Well, they lied again. They wrote the paperwork as an offer of about $4400 total and sent her off to F&I. The Finance guy went to try and get it corrected because it seemed like an oversight based on what they told my sister. The sales person, Mike Romain had told her the net was $4400 after the trade and payoff. Then tried to say, he didn't know and quietly tried to say something along the lines of, how about you just buy this from us and go sell your Mercedes seperately? When challenged with explaining their attempts to mislead again, he just kept focusing on closing the sale, not the agreed upon terms of it.

My sister demanded her check back and walked out. The horrible people responsible for these blatant attempts to MISLEAD my sister wasted more than 5 hours of her and my nieces time.

Shame on them. They made every attempt to lie to my sister and get her to pay more.

I am sending a detailed report to Honda Corporate about their attempts to misrepresent the advertised price of a HondaTrue Certified vehicle and force customers into something other than advertised and represented.
