I tried to purchase a battery operated saw to recieve the promotional 2 bateries and charger in the pictures I posted. But the register was charging full price for both items. The cashier said it was probably because I was using my Veterans discount and tried ringing up without the discount. The register gave the free item if no Veterans discount was applied. Working on the premise that a Veterans discount was something that Home Depot gave to Veterans not available to other customers because they appreciated Veterans service to their Country on their behalf, and that it was a cash register programing problem I asked to speak to a manager to see if he could do an override to give me the discount and possibly fix the glitch so another Veteran would not have to go through the same problem and wait. And it was a long wait probably 15 or 20 minutes before he showed up. When he finally showed up he was rude, acted as though I was wasting his time and informed me that the Veterans program was a promotional program and this was a promotional item and he was not going to do a double promotion (so much for appreciating your service vets they just want you in the store). This manager and the cashier both gave me the impression that Veterans were more trouble than they were worth. I decided not to purchase the tools and to do my shopping at Lowes or Amazon from now on. But I am glad that this happened. I was on the fence about spending any more money on this brand of power tools anyway. The tools are Ryobi brand that I have never seen any where else but Home Depot. I was buying them for my Son in Law. He bought a set of them a few years ago. I kept noticing Ryobi chargers and batteries in his trash. Their was one or the other in his trash about every 3 to four months. He does very little with the tools hangs nick nacks and light household stuff.
To much of the stuff we get from Home Depot does not last. At least 4 generators used 2 or 3 times that won't run. Same with lawn tools. If it is a tool that is only sould through Home Depot it has been my experience that it won't last long if it has any moving parts.
Thank you mister Home Depot manager for giving me a reason to stop...
Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews—in fact, I often go out of my way to leave positive ones. Unfortunately, my recent experiences at this Home Depot have been disappointing.
I strongly believe in the importance of customer service and how it impacts whether customers return. This past weekend, I saw a sign for Powerade that read 8-pack but in the corner stated 3-pack for $6.99. Since a 6-pack is normally $5.99 at Walmart, I thought it was a good deal. I help with a nonprofit girls’ softball league, so I grabbed three 3-packs and continued shopping.
My husband and I then looked for bed risers. It was obvious we needed help, but two associates walked right past us, absorbed in their own conversation. After nearly 10 minutes, one finally offered assistance.
At checkout, Ammar, who was very kind, started ringing us up, but the Powerade didn’t scan as advertised. He called over the manager, Leo, who accompanied me to the display. Instead of honoring the posted price, Leo told me the sign was “for their use” and not valid for customers. Back at the register, I explained this to my husband, and we shared that this wasn’t the first disappointing visit. On a previous trip, we had to wait over 20 minutes—while holding our newborn—for a manager to be found to unlock tools.
When we expressed this, Leo simply said, “Hopefully next time will be better.” But this was supposed to be “next time.”
I’ve loved Home Depot since childhood—shopping there for my grandpa’s garden projects and later for all our DIY needs. Loyalty and rapport matter to me, but it’s clear this store has changed. Honoring that sign would have cost the company maybe $20 at most. Our bill that day was over $200, and good customer service would have ensured we returned again. Instead, we’ll likely take our business to Lowe’s or another local store that values customers.
I hope the Lumpkin location sees this feedback as an opportunity...
Read moreThis Home Depot has the rudest people at the service counter. They act like they don't want to be bothered over the phone or in person. I paid for things I ordered in advance and the system showed plenty in stock. I arrived and without looking in the computer the lady at the service desk said we are closing in 4 min. Not hello, not how may I help you, just attitude. She said the system is always wrong and they just had Cyber Monday. She then pointed me down an aisle and never looked in the computer. Someone came to chase me out because they were closing. The gentlemen said they pulled the bins and took me to the person who filled the order. Then the manager showed up with the same attitude as the front desk. She met me at the front and had the 7 bins ready. She checked the computer and presto they WERE in stock. The inventory was correct and right where the computer said they were. I received my complete order only because the manager went above and beyond once she realized that both service counter employees never checked the computer. Why didn't they? Because they just don't care. There is a definite lack of customer service or the understanding of the meaning of it. I believe the real issue is that those who care don't work at the service desk or manage the store. This store is far from the look and professional feel that you get at the Katy Home Depot stores. Both of the stores in Katy have rock star management and employees that are...
