Y'ALL.. these ladies aint NO joke. Form is one of the most challenging workout classes I've ever done. Now with pain comes some serious gains. I've now been a form member for over 1 year but within my first 8 weeks, I noticed significant core strength and arm definition faster than I've had with any other strength workout - including weights. All the instructors at form are amazing - each has their own style of teaching, but what they all have in common is their ability to inspire, motivate and push you to complete that one last rep! My favorites are Frankie, Anna & Shantelle. The music is always on point and I always find myself singing along -which helps class go by faster.. much needed when your legs get the shakes and your peach is on fire. I would highly recommend doing their 3 class trial for new clients - I was lost the first class but by class 3 I felt like I had most of the moves down and really enjoyed the class. The instructors and other class members are awesome and always help you find the right positioning - so don't be intimated by the machines. If you're looking for a fun strength training class that's a whole body workout then look no further! Also bonus..the studio has awesome shower accommodations, lots of shower stalls and toiletries provided. And if you’re a multitasker like me, it’s connected to the best spin studio in...
Read moreI was a cardio girl that only really enjoyed high intensity interval training. I started trying FORM after someone promised me it wasn’t Pilates and I could give back to my favorite charity (one of the 5 charities of that quarter) at the end of the class. My first class- I liked it. Second class - I loved it. And by third class - I was hooked. They have transformed my perspective about what an intense workout can look like. But it’s not just the lagree workout that I love. From the second you walk in the door, it’s different. There’s nothing pretentious about them. There’s no intimidation of people who have done it a ton versus newbies. There’s no social workout cliques like some classes and studios. It’s the nicest women instructors that take empowerment of women beyond the studio. They personally and professionally support the wholistic care of your body. They empower you no matter what life stage. (Pregnant? They got you. Just had a hip replacement? They still got you.) I really can’t believe I am writing a review since I’ve never done this before, but I’ll blame the cold eucalyptus towel at the end of the workout that...
Read moreBefore FORM I have tried only mat pilates, not any reformer classes. I really enjoyed the workout, and the studio is small but is immacuately clean. All of the teachers seem genuine, and if they have never met you make a point to shake your hand and say "hi."
One of my main reasons for not trying reformer class before was due to the high price per class. The prices for Lagree are approx. 30+ per workout also (no matter what studio you choose). This is a similar price range for reformer classes. I can't afford to do this more than once per week, but I have been a few times and doing it as a treat to myself to try a different type of consider it a treat compared to other workouts.
I see a lot of people in the class who try to do all the moves fast. If you do the moves super slow you can really feel your muscles firing up. The music and the pink lights are great motivators.
I tried a few classes at another Lagree studio in the Houston area, and decided I liked this one better. It certainly has that music and light motivation which personally I need to drive me...
