I don't know if it was a bad day or something completely unrelated but my barber made me feel uncomfortable for a majority of the cut. After he was done with the sides I asked if I could put my glasses back on. Usually my eyes hurt when they're off for too long. At some point I was bringing up an anecdote on a bad hair cut that I received over a decade ago at a completely different shop. I don't know if that was the cause for the barber's immediate emotional response, but they immediately switched gears and accused me of being judgmental and overly critical about the cut they were giving me. He then began to snap at me for every involuntary eye twitch or minor body movement. I usually try and contain my response to stimulation and body ticks in general, but this whole experience was incredibly humiliating. I tried apologizing profusely still not knowing what I did to offend them in an effort to soothe over any offense with a person that has my head in their hands. The last bit that pushed it over the edge was the barber telling me not to worry about paying as if I wasn't even worth the time in the chair. Situation was de-escalated by the time I paid, tipped, and left. I was grateful for the professional courtesy of them not messing my hair up, but having come here for 4 years I was expecting the same great experience. Instead, I left feeling miserable in the pit of my stomach with a solid haircut. Won't be coming again which sucks because it took me so long to...

The place itself is great and has a humble environment. I only had Mike 'Fresh' so I can't speak of the other barbers here. He was overall easygoing and very clean, especially when it came to his cutting supplies.

However, he didn't deliver well on what I requested. I told him my specifications which was 2 inch in the front, 1.5 inch on top, high fade, etc....He just assumed it was a trim of whatever I had on my head. He seemed to eyeball most of his cuts and didn't estimate length with hands like other barbers. At the end, the front was definitely uneven and on one corner off my temple too short. When I asked him at the end how long my hair was, he said he didn't have a way to measure it, kind of disappointing considering I told him the length I wanted. I guess he put his own spin/take on the hairstyle I had in mind.

The haircut was not horrific but not...

I just had the best haircut experience of my life and its all thanks to Jarrod. For the last decade or more I've always seen getting a haircut as a chore, and I feel like this guy single-handedly changed my perspective in 30-45 minutes.

Not only is this haircut probably the best I've ever got, but Jarrod is hilarious and will make you feel instantly comfortable. Even better, he actually spent the time after the haircut to teach me about my hair and show me how to style it. Im absolutely floored.
