After coming half a dozen times to this studio I wanted to give a thorough review. I am new to Pilates, but not new to working out; Iām coming from a weight lifting routine. This is my favorite studio in Houston because it is the most challenging, and they focus on your core and stabilizing your body. Form comes first! This is a low impact workout, but super effective. Every time I leave here my body feels great, and I am drenched in sweat. Today I did Sara Steinās class and she is awesome extremely thorough with her explanations of each move and I love that she takes the time to adjust anyone that needs adjustments. The music is the right level so you can hear the instructor talking and still hear yourself think. The studio is always extremely clean and they give you wipes to wipe down the machine after youāre done. My advice. If you are new, let yourself be known and introduce yourself to the instructor upon entering. Class starts precisely at the start time. There is plenty of parking. I had been doing classical pilates for about 6 months and was looking for something more intense, but also including more cardio or interval training. This literally is the most intense workout Iāve ever done in my life; Anna has a gift for making some truly fat-shedding routines using the Lagree method. Iām drenched in sweat when I leave, but feel so accomplished physically and mentally. Iāve never been a runner, but after a few months of classes 3x a week here I was able to run almost 3 miles no problem. In the midst of a class, the instructors are encouraging, know their stuff, and can help with perfecting form so you get the most out of the workout. The instructors are incredible, welcoming, and they never stop pushing you to be better than you were yesterday. I go 6-7 times a week, but because the routines are constantly evolving, it never stops being challenging. The studio is small and intimate, so you don't feel like you're just another client, you feel like part of a community. I've tried a lot of workout classes and programs, but nothing compares to Lagree HTX. Because the classes are small, you never lose the personal touch. They make sure you never feel pressured to hurt yourself just to stay in a move and always offer ways to modify without making you feel weak for needing to.
