If you want to stop smoking, Peking Acupunctureās smoking cessation program with Dr. Ling is the only way to go. Although I made attempts to quit smoking from time to time over the last 30 years, those efforts were undermined by the intense urge to smoke and the inability to muster the willpower to overcome those urges during times of stress and anxiety - a daily occurrence for most. However, Peking Acupunctureās smoking cessation treatment worked for me and I knew I kicked the habit forever within just 5 days. Hereās my story.
I first visited Dr. Ling at Peking Acupuncture for pain on the recommendation of a friend. I saw the literature in the front office about their smoking cessation program and, when I made inquiry, Dr. Ling was all too happy to share his knowledge, experience and success stories. Although I had personal knowledge that acupuncture is highly effective and works for many things, I had doubts about the smoking cessation program. Dr. Ling stood firm in his conviction that Peking Acupunctureās smoking cessation program would work and, although the first treatment would be effective, I could come back as many times as I wanted over a 30 day period of time for one flat rate price. I knew I wanted to quit smoking and was trying to find a āgood timeā in my schedule. As a trial lawyer, my world is a series of varying stress levels and there is never an āidealā time. So, I bit the bullet and scheduled an appointment on a Saturday.
The Saturday appointment took about an hour, was painless and I found myself feeling quite serene as I left the office. Over the next few days, I did not experience any nicotine cravings or withdrawals, although I did seem to have an abundance of time on my hands. I did not realize how much time was wasted in the consumption of cigarettes or how many daily decisions and activities were tailored around the consumption of cigarettes. I knew I would need to avoid triggers like coffee and alcohol before I began. So, I planned to drink tea to take a break from coffee for while. Alcohol was another story - many lawyers drink too much to quench the strain of stress and I was no exception. Quite to my amazement, I had no desire to drink alcohol and had even more free time. Not only did I not have the desire to smoke or drink, but the idea of doing either seemed undesirable. Lack of appetite was also a happy accident of the acupuncture treatment.
The real test for the smoking cessation program with Dr. Ling at Peking Acupuncture happened Thursday, 5 days after the initial treatment. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, my stress level started out fairly low and quickly ramped up and over 10 before noon and remained at that level until about 7 p.m. Under normal circumstances, I would have gone downstairs to smoke and, at some point later in the afternoon, there would have been some alcohol consumption. To be sure, I was very consciously aware of what I would do under normal circumstances and the idea of smoking and drinking tinkled in my thoughts. Throughout the day, I soldiered on - taking a few deep breaths from time to time. At the end of the day, I found myself so immensely thankful and grateful that I did not succumb to old habits that I was almost reduced to tears. That day - 5 days in - I knew āI got this.ā
Although Dr. Ling insists that one treatment will do, you may want to think of it as a 30 day treatment plan. I wanted to make double sure the noose of nicotine was forever eradicated from my life. So, I followed up the first Saturday (04/22) appointment with another treatment on Tuesday (04/25) and Friday (04/28) the first week, then Wednesday (05/03) the next week and a final appointment on Friday, May 12th. The smoking cessation treatment with Dr. Ling at Peking Acupuncture made it easy for me to kick the habit - no nicotine withdrawals or urges to overcome. I highly recommend Peking Acupunctureās smoking cessation treatment and hand out their card to any smoker mentioning the desire to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband had a hemorrhagic stroke in September 2016 that affected his left side. Friends told me that acupuncture could help stroke patients regain mobility, but I was skeptical. When physical therapy didnāt seem to help much after four months, I decided to give acupuncture a try. At first, my husband was seen by an acupuncturist thatās far from our home. We saw him twice per week for couple of months, then my husband got sick and hospitalized again.
After his release from the hospital, we were referred to the Peking Acupuncture Clinic that's closer to our home. Dr. Nancy Ling examined my husbandās left hand & leg and saw he has some sensation there. She said thatās a good sign, acupuncture could help, but recovery may take longer than if he was treated immediately after the stroke, or at least within the first 3 months. (Both acupuncturists told us the same thing.) All his doctors told us that stroke recovery takes a long time, especially from hemorrhagic stroke. Currently, my husband is being treated by Dr. Nancy Ling twice per week for about 5 weeks now, and heās doing physical therapy as well. Within these 5 weeks, we do see some signs of physical improvement.
I know definitely that Dr. Nancy Lingās acupuncture treatment helped my husbandās motion-sickness. After his stroke, he would get nausea and/or vomiting whenever heās riding in a car; thus, he would not eat if he had to ride in a car. He took Dramamine, worn Sea-Band, and took prescription drug for motion-sickness, but none of these helped.
About a week into his acupuncture treatment with Dr. Ling, one day we arrived late because my husband threw-up in the car on the way. When I apologized for being late, Dr. Ling said, no problem, but I think I can help him. In addition to treating his stroke that day, she treated him for motion-sickness at the same time. Miraculously, my husband did not have motion-sickness on the way home after his appointment that day....whereas, he did before.
Iām happy to say, my husband has NOT experienced motion-sickness since the treatment. Now he's not afraid to eat beforehand if he has to ride in a car, and quality of life improved tremendously for both of us.
Drs. Tiong and Nancy Ling, owners of Peking Acupuncture Clinic, Inc. are such friendly, ethical, and compassionate people. My husband and I are so happy to have found Peking Acupuncture Clinic, and we highly recommend them for your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was smoking since 15 years, and it all started thinking its under my control. Little did i knew it would control me. Being an extremist i smoked behind normal; ignoring doctors warning to quit smoking. Being treated for DVT and varicose vein, smoking acted as a catalyst to worsen the health. But despite that my brain overpowered my urge to smoke agaisnt my will being a daily routine. It became a guilty pleasure, and i knew what i was loosing but the thought to quit struck when i realised that i was avoiding hugging my parents fearing i would smell smoky and hurt them, lied to my wife on numerous occasions, fought to smoke ciggerettes.Became a hypocrite asking my family members to quit. I was literally a slave to smoking, putting my family in danger just to smoke 1 ciggerette most of the time. It made me a beggar when i thought not buying will help me quit, but instead realised i was borrowing it even from strangers and one time a homeless guy who i used to give food. Tried cold turkey but didnt last more then 3 days without a ciggerette or hookah. My customer turned friend Mr Robert Dunes who had visitied Dr Ling 27 years ago told me about this place and made me believe that its possible to quit smoking. Him and his 4 friends quit smoking with just a 45 mins session at Peking Accupunture for guys trust me i felt the same. This Dr is not the one with a profit earning business, instead he only wishes good health to people and really wants to treat them with out charging arms and legs. Its real, 1 session of accupuncture and never have the urge of smoking again. Last but not the least one must need to make up your mind to quit before you go here. $250 once and for all with...
