Two of my friends and I pulled up to the drive thru around 11:45 on a Friday night. There was a line, but nothing ridiculous, maybe 10 to 12 vehicles. We were amazed by how quickly the line was moving. Whataburger is usually pretty good at keeping things moving, but this was much faster than usual. The usual wait time is around 5-10 minutes when there are only a couple of cars in the line. That night it was less than 5 minutes from the time we ordered to getting our food and driving away. After we got our food we found out why things were moving so quickly. All of our food was cold from the fries to the burgers. It was fairly obvious that in order to prepare for the crowd they had precooked some things and stationed them at the ready. When the cheese on the cheeseburger you ordered 5 minutes ago is cold you know this was not freshly cooked.
I have been to this location many times during the week, and never had any complaints. But this was my first visit on a weekend night. I think in someone's zeal to deliver fast service they forgot that delivering quality food should be first priority. I would rather wait a little longer for food hot and fresh than get it...
Read moreI checked into the curbside service because I have sprained both my foot and my ankle and walking is unbelievably painful. I sat in the pick up area in spot number 3 for a solid 10 minutes and no one so much as acknowledged me after I checked in. plenty of employees walked past the window and looked right at me But they kept on going. I finally got tired of waiting and slowly and painfully limped into the restaurant only to find that there was apparently a problem with a couple of employees with each other. But my food had been sitting there for a while and not only was it wrong, it was cold. When I asked for them to make my order correctly, they handed the bag off to the cook while the cook slapped a couple of pieces of cheese on my Burger and didn't even acknowledge the fact that my fries were absolutely stone cold. My dad eats at this Whataburger all the time and I often come with him. Add over the last 3 or 4 years we have seen the quality of food and service at this location decline significantly. This is no longer acceptable, folks. If this is a corporate training store, You guys are...
Read morethis is the best Whataburger in a 4 mile radius. i live down the street from the one on Gessner, and i instead drive to Long Point, there is that big a difference consistantly. but sitting in the drive-thru, waiting on my breakfast before i clock-in at my customer-facing job, i see through the pick-up window a sign reading, "Please do not use cups, syrups, or cups without paying for it. It's not worth losing your job. Thank you so much!"and it kills my appetite. I would have asked for a refund, but im not trying to make your employees' job more miserable than it clearly already is. Not only is such a sign demeaning, dehumanizing, to have it in view of your customers is humiliating. It's like you're advertising to you patrons, 'THIS is the kind of establishment WE are.' So, you've lost my business. I'm a born Texan and I have always been a big fan of Whataburger breakfast, but you don't get my money any more. Not until you learn to treat your employees with the respect they deserve. Let your employees have some coffee on the house (in cup even!) while they bust their humps...
