Atmosphere was ok. The place had a good amount of people eating. Waitress was nice and helpful. Food pricing for breakfast was cheap. Chips and salsa were good. Food came out really really fast and hot. But and this is a BIG BUT the food was not good at all. I was like you can't really mess up breakfast. We'll they did. The refied beans looked as if they were refried several times and were watery. The over medium eggs were blan and the fajita meat was not good. That was my plate. My wife had the chilquilles they to were not good at all to the point where she took a couple of bites and left here plate. The tortillas tasted weird and the chilquilles were more like migas they mixed the eggs in them and loaded it with melted cheese instead of queso fresco. My sister said the menudo was good there so I asked for a sample. The waitress was nice enough to give me a sample. I called my sister after we left and told her the menudo was not good at all. I could tell when they first brought it out the color was not right and it smelled like they did not clean it right before cooking. I tried it any way and glad I didn't order a bowl. I paid my meal and tipped the waitress. Not a food critic but I do like food and sorry to say I will never return. Take this review...
Read moreThe place has always been an excellent meal for me, I've always enjoyed going for many reasons. For one main reason the food is delicious and has this way of making you feel like it was home cooked, regardless of who you came with or how you got there it has always made me feel like there was live and preparation put into the meal long before I even say down and ate it. Two I've always loved the staff and friendly faces that I have found there they've always tried their best to understand and additionally always catered to me and my church group that goes late at night, no matter the time it was always consistent to be able to be treated with respect and dignity coming from them. And third but not last I've always loved the family atmosphere that provides many joyous times even through the pandemic, I've come many times and each time I still felt a slice of what life was like before all the crazy covid-19 stuff happened. In my personal opinion this place has earned my respect and admiration and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good family place to go to, and as for a meal recommendation I would order...
Read moreIf you order fajitas by the pound, just be aware that you will NOT receive the sizzling, off-the-grill fajita meat that most people know as fajitas. Instead, you'll get chopped and pan-cooked (or maybe stir-fried) pieces of meat. The chicken tasted good, but the beef was very plain and boring.
This was my second time trying this place. First time, I ate there and the food was great and the prices were even better. But I didn't order fajitas the first time.
This time, I placed a pick up order over the phone. I called them at 5:30 and placed the order to be picked up at 7:30. I showed up at 7:35 and they hadn't even started preparing my order yet. So (patiently and naively) I sat there while they got started. In hindsight, I probably should have just taken it as a sign to leave. Because I ended up paying almost $100 ($115 after including tip, which I regretfully chose to give) for food that was not what we expected and only decent/mediocre in terms of taste.
Good enough though to give them another (third) try at some point. But as of now, it's been a...
