These folks are really kind and helpful. Most importantly to me though is that they carry a pretty large array of options that are fresh and humane from my research and experience.
I've gone a few times and typically I am shopping for my dog. I was searching for a source of meat that was humane, healthy, and a little bit niche because dogs benefit most from specific types of meat that are sometimes harder to find in grocery stores.
Not only do they have a lot of variety of meat but the have some things significantly for dogs, including bones and ground blends, and game options.
Not only that but considering the high quality and niche market, the pricing truly is fair and customizable in the sense that with most things you can pick larger or smaller quantities or weight in order to fit within a budget.
I'm about to head there now to pick up more meat for my dog and decided I'm ready to leave my review. They do good work and deserve their kudos.
They are one of the only shops in this shopping center that accept cards instead of just cash.
It is an open wall shopping center (sort of a farmer's market/flea market vibe but with non-used goods/mostly food options from what I've seen. However their store has walls and air conditioning. They're right next to the burger restaurant. There's also a bathroom right around the corner from their store.
You can walk almost directly to their shop once you park if you park in the right place so you don't have to do much walking to get there, if that's a concern.
They also bag my purchases in these cute cloth bags which I think is a really nice touch.
Give them a try, they do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe entered the show room area and Mackenna, the manager refused my husband service because she said his service animal was not allowed in the business. My husband's service animal was wearing a collar and leash that clearly displays him as a service animal. Mackenna did not ask what his job as a service animal was, she simply refused him service. The meat was not exposed, it was behind glass covering in a display case. My husband was denied service because of his service animal/disability which is a violation of state and federal laws. If you are disabled, don't shop here. My husband is a combat veteran is he was poorly treated and discriminated against by the manager of this establishment. We've filed a formal complaint with the department of civil rights. These employees should be better trained in state and federal disability laws. They should not be managing a store if they are discriminatory against disabled people.
My husband had to sit because he almost had a panic attack so we took a seat across from the business. Security for the Farmers Market showed up armed because they got a call for a disturbance. Us sitting across their business was apparently enough for these employees to call armed security on us. Security confirmed to us that the Farmers Market allows service animals and profusely apologized to us. RC Ranch discriminates against you for your disability and then calls armed security on you if you dare to sit across their establishment to calm a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has been my go to for freshly butchered meats since I moved to Houston. Fantastic quality, knowledgeable staff and a great location in the HFMānot to mention a good member rewards program. I was extremely disappointed today to go in expecting to see the bounty I have become accustomed to and instead finding that nearly ALL the cuts are now vacuum sealed. It is such a turnoff at a butcher not be able to see exactly what you are buying. I understand the need to prevent oxidation and ensure freshness but butchers have been wrapping meat in butcher paper for hundreds of years and nothing has happened. We definitely donāt need more plastic garbage floating around in the world!! I suggest at least to have a limited number of fresh cuts out each morning, with some additional displayed in the back that are vacuum sealed. I know that many chef friends will not be returning if this...
