Salon Vive — Local services in Houston

Janiece has been my hair stylist since 2001 and I’ve now followed her here to Salon Vive on Memorial. My hair color is naturally very dark with a lot of warmth and I’ve had a hard time finding a stylist who is able lighten the color up to blond/light ash brown without making it brassy or orange, but Janiece does a fantastic job with all my coloring needs from changing my base color to adding highlights and/or lowlights. She knows exactly what I like and is always evaluating new products and techniques to help me achieve the color I want without jeopardizing the health of my hair, which I greatly appreciate. Janiece also does Great Lengths extensions (which are natural hair extensions of the highest quality) and has done mine many times since 2001, which has enabled me to change my look from short hair to long hair, from bangs to no bangs, and from layers to no-layers, over the years. I continue to follow Janiece wherever she goes because I know that I can trust her to take care of my hair and get everything done right.

First visit for myself and my mother yesterday and we both had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. My mother has very fine curly hair and had struggled for years to find a stylist who specializes in curly cuts until she met Ivan. Ivan is a perfectionist and did an amazing job. He listened to her needs without judgement and provided several recommendations before service. Not only did he give my mother a cut that is made for her type of hair but also recommended several different hairstyles; straight or curly. My mothers hair looked voluminous and healthier immediately after the cut. She also had a root touch up and hydration hair treatment. My hairstylist was Jacky. She’s amazing! I love love how my haircut turned out as well. Jacky listened to my concerns and to exactly what I was aiming for. I showed her several inspo pictures and needless to say, she nailed it. She styled my hair to my preference and even took the time to show me some tips and tricks so that I could style it the same way at home. I also had a hydration hair treatment. If I were a poet, I would win a pulitzer for the poem I would write after my my experience with Tony at Salon Vive!! Sure, he is chatty but in this world of folks who talk too much and say nothing, Tony is a gem!!! He heard what I wanted and executed it to perfection! I have a lot going on in life and needed a stylist who could accept that. I found just that in Tony! Not only does my hair cut feel natural on me, Tony understood that I cannot work magic on it on a daily basis and tailored my cut to this sentiment..and as a lady with long hair it is very hard to find any one who gets that!! I am seriously in love with my hair and wish I had done this a lot sooner! I will be back over and over. I wish he had the necessary colors for achieving my vision for the hair color but Tony went above and beyond to get this own colors to give me the perfect iteration of my vision!
