We were all excited, my family & friends, about a new Target coming to this area b/c it was the kind of store lacking in this part of Houston and personally for me someone who uses public transportation to get around this new store is on my direct route home from work. Now I realize your store hours are set to close at 10pm but the last few times shopping there, 3 to be exact and only separated by one week, so I think that many visits demonstrates how for me at least there was a need for this store your Target but.. Each of these visits have ended in a way that I feel like maybe my business is not so wanted: each of the three times it has been explained to me that it is closing time at 10pm which doesn't leave me much time to finish and maybe that's another reason I've visited three times in last week b/c I havent had enough time to shop thats all fine and well but on each of these visits ive felt harassed and hurried and once even chased out like an unwanted guest; worse experience out of the three was when a manager literally chased after me raising her voice saying its closing time you need to make your way to the register now, at least the first night an employee who brought to my attention the time asked if I needed any help before sending over security guard while i was finishing up finding a belt that fit and this intimidation is why I'm sending a criticism of the customer service in your store a new one at that which one would assume you would want your customers to experience a positive shopping experience, but on this last visit just tonight I had an employee come tell me they were closing and I was grabbing one last item that I had been deciding on so I went ahead and put it in my basket turned to go checkout and heard her say on her walkeetalkee that she had a gentleman here that wasnt wanting to leave the store and it was at that moment that I put my basket down and left without purchasing a thing and no longer will be shopping at this target which isnt something I wanted to deal with having to do b/c of the need for this kind of store which as I said before is the only one like it on my route so I suppose I will go back to just shopping online but refuse to shop at another target again . It's not ok to harass and intimidate your customers who know the closing time and are making every effort to finish up and checkout if not right at closing time not more than 2 or 3 minutes pass I mean common I work in the hospitality industry and would never dream of chasing a customer around through the aisles till they left to go checkout. Maybe you guys should just inform your customers a few minutes before that it's almost closing time and for the ones still left go and offer them help making last decisions but not in a way that one feels threatened by a manager on her phone calling for security it's not like I was purposefully holding anyone late or not acknowledging what she had said I was only trying to decide between a pair of pants as to which size i should get without changing rooms available it makes it harder to tell and once I made a decision and looking at the time which was 10:01pm made my way to checkout but upon hearing how she had a customer who wasnt wanting to leave decided I needed to inform your corporate office of this practice of harassing n intimidating the customers to leave if they havent made it to checkout exactly by 10pm simply bc they are trying to find what they came for at a time near closing when it seems nobody is around to help you make your choices faster and it isnt until 10pm that suddenly you see a bunch of employees roaming the aisles looking for customers to press on to the checkout and when one of them does decide to be polite about it and ask if I need help making any final choices they make it obvious that they really arent there to help you but just to get you out of the store. So go yourself around closing time and see for yourself how rude some of your employees think it's ok to be towards the customers dont just take my word for it. An offended and concerned...
Read moreSo I always do curbside pick up at Target, I never check my bags nor do I see anyone else check their bags because I guess we figure it's the employee's job and it's common sense when the employees are shopping for curbside items that the items are correct, nothing missing or damaged. Today I went to pick up an order and like always didn't check it till I was almost home. Can someone tell me why the box was empty??? I asked myself how did the person shopping for the item not notice that it felt extremely light??? It was a top coat nail polish by the way so it has a little weight to it. So I go back to Target, the guy that gave me my order happened to be out there, I tell him what happened, give him my bag, he goes into the store, then someone, who identified himself as a manager, comes back out, gives me my replacement and instead of telling me something like sorry for the inconvenience proceeds to tell me that next time if I can please check my items before driving off to avoid something like this because it's kind of hard to do an exchange without proof (I guess trying to insinuate that maybe I stole it.) So I turn around and tell him it's your employees job to make sure the items they are shopping for are correct and or not damaged or missing, isn't it??? He looks at me like I'm speaking a language he doesn't understand and then says well yes that's correct to which I reply okay well then please train your employees correctly and give them that advice, not me, I don't work for Target, ya'll do to which he replies I have, have a good day in a rude like tone. I guess the truth I told him bothered him. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ Honestly I feel because I was a Hispanic female at a Target in a nicer part of Houston he assumed that I was stealing or something. Little does he know there is no reason for me to steal an $11 nail polish when #1 I spend quite a bit of money at Target, he can verify that by checking my Target account and #2 when I get my nails done I spend minimum $60 so why would I need to steal an $11 nail polish??? Make it make sense!!! See I could have been one of those types of people that pull the race card but I didn't cause it irritates me when people do that, however, I really doubt he would have said the same thing to someone of his same ethnicity or a Caucasian person, but because I was Hispanic he thought he could try it and I wasn't going to say anything. You thought wrong sir!!! I do and will continue to speak up when I feel something needs to be said so please TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES...
Read moreDO NOT GO AT NIGHT! There are no lights in the parking lot. It is pitch black. As a single female, I found it quite disturbing, especially once I got in my car & was able to make out random people just wandering around the parking lot. It looked like the freaking Walking Dead.
I asked a cashier what was up with the lights when I was at the self-checkout, and she said they'd been that way since Beryl. I'm not sure if she's correct, as she didn't even know what I was talking about when I first brought it up.
I tried calling the Houston Help Line & was told it was a Centerpoint issue. I called Centerpoint, and they said that a Target manager would need to call in. I'm just trying to make things safer, but okay. 🙄 I blew up Target's phone lines - every department & even hitting '0' and NOBODY answered. I wasn't about to drive back & walk through that pitch black parking lot again. One would think that all of the businesses that are open at night would have collectively called Centerpoint & said - what's up with the lights in our parking lot/walkways?? Alas, it seems as if everyone is passing the buck.
Since Target is the main store in the center, I believe they should take the initiative to get Centerpoint out there & fix whatever the heck is wrong. Until then, I would recommend to all people to not shop after dark, as you are open prey for anyone who wants to steal your items; break into your car; even so far as be a victim of assault. It's just not worth it.
