V's Barbershop - Houston River Oaks — Local services in Houston

If you’re looking for a new barbershop or considering this one, I’d highly recommend it! The prices are reasonable and I really like and appreciate that you can add on a shampoo to your service so you feel fresh and don’t have little hairs poking you or getting all over your clothes after you leave. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It’s quick and easy to schedule an appointment online, although I’d recommend you book in advance if you want someone in particular to do your cut. The shop looks small from the outside but it’s actually very spacious when you get inside and has lots of seating to accommodate anyone who goes with you. It was clean, organized, and smelled nice which are all important to me. Ruben did a phenomenal job and I’ll definitely be booking with him again. The only other thing you should know is that the parking area is quite small and can get crowded. It’s difficult to find parking if you have a large vehicle so keep that in mind and plan your arrival time in advance because you might have to circle around a few times before you find an open space. I've always had good experiences at V's, until today! I went for a haircut, without an appointment. A gentleman at the counter asked me if I had an appointment - No. He turned to one of the barbers, a black dude with long hair (who was talking on the phone) and asked him if he would take me. The guy shook his head, No. So I was asked to wait - no problem. A few minutes later, the black dude finished his call and told me he would take me. I sat down in the chair, told him what I wanted done, he sprayed my hair wet, then he asked "Are you my 11 am appointment"? No, I said (the time was about 10:50). Oh well, he said, I must ask you to sit in the waiting chair, my appointment will be here soon. I was not a happy camper and expressed my frustration. Another of the barbers came over and said he would help me as soon as he was finished with his client. Ok, so all is well. Don’t do it. I should have listened to the bad reviews. I walked in ask if they had an opening the guy told me come back in an hour he would do it then. So I did and when I came back no one even acknowledge that I was there help me nothing I just sat down and waited still nothing so I said OK I’ll wait another five minutes. If no one comes up to me, then I’m just gonna walk out which I end up doing. And honestly, I’m glad I did. I was watching the other guys give their haircuts and honestly it didn’t seem like they were very good. I ended up going to a different barbershop that was only 5 mins away. Which I am Glad I did because now I found a good barber. but common customer service is definitely needed here that goes a long ways! They are not the only barbershop in town just I may have just been one person walking out but over time that can hurt someone Business you’re losing customers.
