I love to take tourists here. It’s not a mall, or a statue, or a building; it's an experience. It’s just a psuedo-park by a bridge that bats live under. It’s a great place to sit and talk for a bit while you wait for the sun to set and the bats to take off. Bring a blanket and take a load off. You may want to make this a pre-dinner thing (as opposed to cute picnic-ing it), unless the smell of about 250,000 bats living under the same bridge makes you hungry. It’s crazy to see them come out for feeding and will be an experience you and your loved ones won't forget.

A few key points from experience: Bats can come out before or after sunset so arrive 30 minutes before sunset and expect to stay for about an hour Can bring a chair or blanket or just sit on edge of the sidewalk Bats don't come out in the rain or cold (50 or lower) so check the weather before going Metered street parking is usually available on Rosine street- a short block west and south...

Wow! What an experience 👏👌 We waited for probably a good 30-45 minutes but when the bats finally came out....INCREDIBLE!! It was so cool to see the food chain from a different POV. We stood on the bridge but there is also a grassy knoll to sit on....also dog friendly. Do recommend getting there in enough time to go park.....it was about a good 10 minute walk. Best part is its FREE!! Can't wait...
