I have been shopping at Hudson Home Depot almost exclusively since I moved to Wisconsin in 2006. There is a Menards pretty much right next door, even cheaper on most products, yet I prefer the Depot because it's brighter and cleaner and they carry more high end items. Or so I thought?! I am a self employed contractor and I purchase large amounts of items here for my company but also buy TONS of stuff for my house as well. About 6 months ago I bought a Sentry safe with the keypad entry. I wanted this so that I wouldn't worry about leaving keys around or losing them, and the fact that in the event of a break in, I would be able to quickly get my protection from the safe. The safe appeared to be just what I was looking for until about 3 hours passed. At that time I went to open the safe and the code I set up was not working. I knew it was correct as I had just used the code a bunch of times after programming it earlier that day. Figured batterly was just weak and that if I bought new batteries, everything would be fine. I did have keys still so I really didn't put the task up on my very important "to do" llist. By the time I did get new batteries I them learned the batteries atre not the problem. It was over 90 days before I could bring it back in, regardless they won't exchange it for us. Rubbed me wrong but for a little $80.00 safe I figured to just keep it using the keys. Now just this past Friday I went in to exchange my new Milwaukee cordless/brushles drill. Only had this drill for maybe 3 months and one morning at a job I was finishing up I needed to use it. Problem was that the only way you could change direction on the drill was by changing the direction, pulling off the battery and replacing it back on. So each time I needed to change bits I had to pull the battery off and on. Then there are times where it will just stop working completely until I do the battery pull and replace. Other times the light stays on LONG after the trigger has been untouched. I do have the receipt somewhere in this years taxes file, however I seriously have at least 125 receipts from Home Depot this year. So I go to the store and ask if they can just locate the purchase date with their computers. I was told they did not see it when using my business card. Unfortunately I also would have checked my personal bank card but my account their was recentlyh compromised ad I am awaiting a new card still. I asked if they could find the sale by serial number and they said they would need to take the drilk and send it for repair and would get it back in 6-8 weeks. Two products within six months that break without ANY type of abuse or misuse and they won't exchange them for replacement. The drill was over $200 and what am I to use until I get this one back? I will start ordering my items on AMAZON and recommend everyone to...
Read moreThis is my first negative review I have ever written (hopefully my last) Awful experience buying our fridge. When we went there the gentleman who sold us our fridge was very nice and very helpful. That was the only good thing about our experience. They scheduled the delivery for Saturday between 10:30 and 2:30 and were supposed to give us a call a half hour in advance. 3 o'clock came around and we still hadn't heard anything. So I called to figure out what is going on. They then told me that it never made the truck and would call us on Monday (we canceled our weekend plans so we could be there when the fridge arrived). They never called us on Monday. I ended up calling on Tuesday and they then said it was scheduled for delivery on Thursday...great (thanks for telling us though). When we bought the fridge we said we wanted our old fridge put in the garage so we could resell it. Thursday came and they delivered the fridge. They also took our fridge with them... I'm still not mad. we were only going to sell it for 50 to $75 anyways and now we didn't need to clean it all up. We noticed that the grill on the bottom of the fridge was warped and wasn't clicking into place. we had a 48 hour window to report anything that was wrong with it. That night I called them to let them know that we needed a new one and that we never received our money they had told us that we would get after the delivery. They said they would have a new one shipped. I called a couple days later to speak to the gentleman who sold us our fridge and he was a totally different person than he was when we bought the fridge (thinking commission might be involved here) He proceeded to tell me that it was our fault for not telling them to put it in the garage. I was not there but my wife was with our 2 young daughters. He said there was nothing he could do to help me and I would have to speak with his manager, who he completely bad mouth when we bought the fridge from him. The 5 times I had been in contact with Home Depot I stayed very friendly and understanding. Now I got mad... The manager called me and told me I would need to call the company directly to have the part ordered instead of them ordering it. We spoke with two other friends that had terrible experiences ordering appliances from Home Depot. I would highly recommend not ordering appliances from here unless you are home all the time and time isn't a factor because you will be listening to a lot of elevator music while you are on hold trying to speak to somone. Sad thing is there is much more to the...
Read moreI went on-line and saw they had more than enough of the patio bricks I was looking for. I went, reluctantly, to the Hudson store since they have shown me nothing but incompetence in the past. I was told they had enough and then sold the amount I wanted. In a regular store that's the end of the story, but at Home Depot, they don't give you your items when you pay for it; they then begin to look for the items they have assured you they have and took your money for. Told it would be about 1/2 an hour, I waited 2 hours in their parking lot before the man who allegedly was looking for the bricks called my cell phone and told me they in fact didn't have the brick they took my money for. So instead of picking them up the same day as promised by employees and website, I now have to wait 2 days for them to deliver. So what is the next step? Call the main customer care line, right? Well they conference call me with the store manager. Now we'll get something done! I get off that phone call with the knowledge that the customer care rep didn't care enough to understand the problem and a store manager who is going to look for the block that her employees were supposed to have looked for yesterday. But at least NOW we'll get something taken care of. 2 hours later, nothing. I call the customer care rep back and left a voicemail telling her I have not received a return phone call. A couple minutes later I get a call from the customer care member, and she is acting as if she just happened to call to check up on the situation. It's not in response to my voicemail it's just me calling to get an update on the situation. Again I am conference called. I am put on hold for a few minutes and then I am brought in on what sounds like the start of the call (as if they didn't have a debriefing prior to bringing me onto the call). The store manager states that they are "still actively looking for the item." The customer care rep then states, "So you do not have that item?" Then the store manager's story changes to no, we do not have that item. Actively looking straight to we don't have it. So end result is I don't get the bricks I was promised to be able to take home that day for 2+ days. Home Depot is not the store it once was. Do not go there unless you know EXACTLY what you want and are able to see it in the store and pick it up yourself. There are plenty of other home improvement stores out there that know what it is they are selling. Note the website STILL says they have enough brick to...
