My journey with Marc Allen Orthodontics began years ago the first time. The exceptional experience I had with Dr. Allen stayed with me through the years, so when I found myself in need of orthodontic treatment again, there was no question in my mind about where I would go, even though Dr. Allen’s office is located in Huntersville and I live in South Carolina. The distance was worth it for the quality of care I knew I would receive.

Dr. Allen is an outstanding orthodontist, but he is also a wonderful human being! His compassion and dedication to his patients are truly remarkable. From the moment I walk into his office, I feel cared for and understood. Dr. Allen takes his time and strives for satisfaction for himself and me. His genuine care made me feel valued and supported throughout my entire treatment. Dr. Allen is a perfectionist with caring for my teeth and was exact to give me the best outcome and I’m truly grateful to him! I wonder if what I paid him even matches the value of the results I received😊. The most special aspect of this office and the connection I made with Dr. Allen is a family-like connection I’ve developed with Shawna and Dr. Allen over the years. They treated me with genuine kindness and respect.

I will also add the entire team is wonderful that I can’t name them all. I enjoyed them all but a couple stand-outs Rhonda, Kimmie and of course Shawna are amazing. Front desk staff Whitney and Melissa always a quick check-in and a cheerful goodbye.

I started treatment with Dr. Mark Allen and his team in December 2021 after a long and discouraging orthodontic journey. Before coming here, I had already spent about four years in treatment at another office (first Invisalign, then braces). That office eventually told me that nothing more could be done for my smile without a $30,000 surgery.

Dr. Allen immediately reassured me that surgery wasn’t my only option. He took on what I knew was a big challenge, but he did it with positivity, intelligence, and confidence. From day one, he was realistic but also so encouraging—he truly speaks life into his patients.

I stayed with his office for almost four years, and throughout the process, I could tell how much pride he takes in his work. He is a true perfectionist in the best way—detail-oriented, patient, and committed to making sure the outcome is right. He doesn’t just fix teeth, he takes the time to explain, teach, and even share life lessons along the way.

The team at the office is also amazing—professional, kind, and supportive through every visit. Thanks to Dr. Allen, I now have a smile I love. It’s beautiful, healthy, and something I never thought I could achieve without surgery.

I am so grateful to Dr. Allen for the wonderful care that he and his staff gave to my son Jacob. We first came Dr Allen when Jacob was 7 years of age after suffering trauma to his upper central incisors as a toddler. The result of the trauma was his permanent upper incisors did not develop and descend properly. Due to Jacob's young age it meant that no permanent implant could be performed until Jacob reached adulthood. So that meant Dr Allen needed to make a treatment plan that spanned over a decade and involved coordinating consultants in general dentistry and oral surgery along the way. It was no small feat to support Jacob emotionally and orthodontically with temporary retainers and ever changing pontic teeth (fake tooth) so Jacob could enjoy a normal smile through his junior high and high school years. Dr Allen and his entire staff were amazingly supportive through these years! More than once meeting Jacob after hours or on a weekend to make an adjustment or secure a loose pontic. Jacob is now 19 and a sophomore at ECU. Dr. Allen completed the final stage of Jacob's treatment plan this past Summer and Jacob his so happy with his implant!
