I cannot thank Meagan enough for the amazing job she did for my wedding dress. I’ve always dreamed of using my mom’s dress for my wedding even before I got engaged, but I never knew how I was going to do it. After going to a few different alterations locations that refused to work on the dress, I looked to FB to point me in the right direction. Thankfully, a handful of people recommended Meagan Kelly Designs from previous experience. I was already in the area and didn’t even make an appointment for my first meeting with her but she was so patient with me and reassured me that she could definitely work on it and that we could schedule a proper appointment. Unfortunately, when I went to get the dress cleaned, it somehow turned PINK! Safe to say, that place is no longer recommended by her after this, but of course, I was freaking out. Thankfully, Meagan made sure to make it right. She offered to change the entire pink lining and basically add in a custom lining which was more than I could ever ask for. Throughout the entire process, she reassured me that the redesign I wanted for my mom’s dress was going to be beautiful, especially when I started having doubts about it. Her entire team was so kind and it was really hard to let them go as I walked out on final fitting day with my finished dress. As you can see from the pictures, Meagan redesigned my mom’s dress perfectly. It was exactly what I wanted and I felt so beautiful in it. Not only did she care about me as her client, but you can tell she cares about every single one of her brides and making sure they get what they want at a fair price. She even took my mom’s veil and fixed it so we could use it as the veil for our Filipino tradition of wrapping it around the bride/groom during the ceremony - at no additional cost. I know there are a lot of places out there that try to upcharge brides to take advantage of them, but Meagan refuses to do that and I am so grateful for that. I cannot recommend Meagan Kelly...
Read moreAfter too many episodes of Say Yes to the Dress, I thought I'd have a magical in-store experience when buying my wedding dress. I'm an extrovert who enjoys making connections when she shops so I thought wedding dress shopping would be a breeze! My first in store experience was lovely but I didn't find anything I wanted. My second experience was lacklustre; the salesperson did nothing to make me feel special.
I was disheartened. I didn't want to be that person who went to tons of stores and was rushing to find something at the last minute. I know my quest would be a challenge because I am not a person who wears white. I wanted something unique and colorful and true to who I am. I searched on Etsy for what I thought I wanted and ... I found something really close. So close! I loved the fabric. I'd never seen anything like it and I felt like it was yelling at me to buy it. But the cut, while beautiful, wasn't going to look right on my body.
I reached out to Meagankelly Designs to ask about altering their beautiful dress. I had a friendly, positive response in minutes. They worked with me to research through their designs to find something that would suit my body. Even though it was online, I had the exact experience I'd been looking for. I started feeling that tingly excitement you see from all the brides finding their dresses on TV. I had found mine!
I cannot emphasize how wonderful Meagan was through this process. Her company was responsive, friendly, and supportive. Even when I was feeling anxious as I awaited the arrival, they were there for me!
And my dress? It is perfect. I feel stunning in it. The cost was good, the fabric is lovely, and I can't wait to walk down the aisle and dance in this gorgeous gown. My only regret is that I won't be getting more dresses! But I'll wear this one as...
Read moreI ordered a custom black dress from this designer back in Jan/Feb for my wedding that is in October of this year. The dress is listed on their website as available in black and the bridal shop I was working with gave me reassurance it would be ready by September. I was notified by the bridal shop in July/August that they had been calling and asking for updates from the designer and we were still on track to be ready by the beginning of September. Three days ago, I was informed by my bridal shop they the lead designer called them and said for the past 7 months they have been trying to dye the fabric and it has been unsuccessful and that they cannot make the dress. The bridal shop was furious and said they never got any inkling of this being an issue when they would call for updates. I was spiraling because I was just told 6 WEEKS before my wedding that I have to find a new dress. The designer offered two different swatches of fabric to make the dress in and claimed it would be done in time. First off, how do you expect me to trust you after what you just did? Secondly, if I’m being completely honest, the swatches were ugly. This is highly unprofessional of a company. If you were having that much of an issue dying the fabric you should have told us sooner. How could you do that to a bride 6 weeks before her wedding? That is a HUGE bump in the road. And if you can’t produce the dress in black, don’t advertise it as an option. But in the end, I guess I should thank you. I was able to find a dress that fit me like a glove and was less than half the cost...
