My husband, Stephen and I were engaged in April and married Labor Day weekend. It was quite a whirlwind trying to pull a full blown wedding and reception together in less than four months. We frequent Poopies for personalized birthday, bridal, and baby gifts for friends and family. As I became immersed in the planning process things started to come together. Then, I realized the one and essential task I forgot to perform...ordering wedding invitations. Duh!!!! I called Kate, the owner of Poppies in a panic to get a recommendation without realizing Poopies provides wedding invitations through their Website. She informed me they contract a provider and offered to help me order the invitations, while reassuring me that the turnaround was rapid and the service was good. I wasn’t sure what to expect ordering them online but I was desperate. Well, not only did the invitations ship within a week, they were more beautiful in person than they were online. More important, they were great quality and everyone raved about them! I made an error when ordering and called the vendor directly per Kate’s recommendation. Read moreI dropped several items off to be monogrammed & was very specific about the placement of one monogram in particular only to pick it up & be told the person doing the monogram must’ve thought it would be better in a different spot. I was so specific about this particular piece that the woman helping me at drop off even placed a sticker where the name should go & yet at pick up the other sales woman told me “You signed off on it, maybe You should have been more specific because the orange sticker is on the paper not on the item.” That seems like an issue with Poppies not an issue with the customer that your own system does not work. I’m not quite sure how that blame could be on me since when I did sign the little orange sticker was where I wanted it. She asked if I wanted to see if the woman who does the monogram could remove the stitching and when I told her no I don’t want small pin mark size holes everywhere she asked “do you monogram yourself because it can be done without being damaged”. The other items turned out great but they really could not have been messed up in any way, very straightforward. Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience with this shop. I was told by one associate that they would be able to embroidery handkerchiefs for me for my wedding. I went back and dropped off my handkerchiefs and was told by a different associate that she wasn’t sure they could do it but would follow up with me. Three days later I hadn’t heard anything so I called to follow up and the associate had no idea who I was or where my items were. She called back after finding the items which, obviously had never even been addressed with anyone, and I was told that they could no longer do it because it was too many words. I understand what I asked for was not a monogram but I wish the first associate I spoke to would not have told me they could complete it because now it’s two weeks before my wedding and I’m left with nothing.
