Brought my guitar in for a setup and restring for an alternate tuning. They said it would be about 2 weeks. It took a month. Quality of the work was poor. Two of the bridge pins were inserted wrong so the groove was not lined up to the string, and they were not able to be pushed all the way in. I guess they thought that was okay and just left it that way. Also, there was a problem with the strings. In the set which I provided, there were two B strings and no G-string. They either did not notice the problem, or didn't care, and just put them on like that anyway, putting a steel B string in the place where a wound G string should be. I asked why they didn't call me when they noticed this problem, and they just said, "these are the strings you brought us, so we just put them on." Also, when you remove old strings, you're supposed to just loosen them and take them off in reverse order of how you put them on. They just cut them off, which can be bad for the guitar neck. They use metal pliers to pull out the bridge pins, instead of the plastic puller tool. Will not go back. Quality of work is important, I will drive to the woodlands, or even Houston...

Stopped by for a quick look after a nice big lunch at Farmhouse Cafe just around the corner. Super nice staff who greeted us immediately and made us feel at home. Nice selection of guitars and I found the Fender Californian Model I was looking for along with a ultra cool Peavy Amp.

Love supporting local business, so I picked up both items and the owner threw in a complimentary strap and cord since the guitar was an electric / acoustic and I bought an amp at the same time. Great experience and so happy to be spending our hard-earned money with a small independent store rather than a big corporate giant.

OMS is THE ONLY shop I'll ever buy from or allow to work on my guitar. I got my first guitar from Chip over 13 years ago in high school. He still remembers me and treats me like family when I walk in, you CAN NOT find that anywhere else. I drove in without warning 🤦‍♂️ to have him fix the neck on my gitfiddle. He knew I came in from out of town so he rushed to fix it for me before I left town. Anywhere else they could have cared less. we sat and discussed God while he helped me out and it was a wonderful experience. if you want to be treated like a number go somewhere else.
