Update Feb 2020 I'm once again altering my review. I have slowly began shopping here again and have had no issues. The staff member I had an issue with even helped me one evening and was very nice. It could be I caught him on a bad night before. Who knows. The other staff I encounter (I don't see the mentioned employee often) are very kind and helpful. Sometimes "stuff" happens but I'm glad my experience has improved to what it used to be.
A few weeks back I started introducing myself to the Warhammer hobby with no painting experience. I originally gave a 5 star review because the gentleman who has helped me in the store every time I've been in has been awesome. The prices seem fair, and he was very helpful with whatever I needed.
However, tonight I stopped in quickly to buy a small pot of citadel paint and the person helping me was not friendly at all. When I got to the counter he walked up, completely ignored the "hi how are you?" I gave him (that's your job by the way). The only two phrases I recieved from the guy was to tell me the total, and then "I honestly dont really know" when I asked a simple price question about another product. I didn't expect him to know off the top of his head, but come on. That's all I got from him. Not a friendly atmosphere to shop at whatsoever. No communication at all.
Thank you to the man that helped me so kindly so many times, but when I experience an employee like this one, I change where I give my money to. Its a pretty basic thing for employees to at least acknowledge a customer, and I expect at least that from any business, even on the worst of days.
If I happen to go in again and see that same employee, ill be sure to walk...
Read moreMixed Feelings about this place. Unless something has changed recently, the store has two separate owners. One owner runs the board game store and another runs the Magic The Gathering side.
As a board game store this is great. They offer you discounts for paying with cash and have relatively competitive prices even compared to Amazon. It has everything you need. They have a wide variety of good board games. I commend them for this and would be glad to do business with them again for board games.
Unfortunately, I only told half the story. The Magic side of the store is why I gave this a lower review. I went in to get a quote on some magic cards I was going to sell. The owner kindly told me he could give me a quote to see what it was worth. It took him about 20 minutes to sift through the cards. After looking through the cards he told me what he would pay for them. I told him I would go somewhere else, and he got very upset and tried to force me to pay him for getting a quote on the cards. He never told me that I would have to pay for a quote. I would not recommend buying or selling magic cards here since the owner could try and manipulate you like he did to me. These are the type of people that I do not like to do...
Read moreI might be skewed here, because I love MTG and I also love nice little local shops. But the staff has always been helpful. They have a really kewl league setup. Most of the time they have what I am looking for at a reasonable price. They are very competitive with other more commercial places to purchase MTG so if you want to support a local business you need only drive over to Gameopolis. And lastly they treat my kids really good, my kids get super excited and want to look at everything. At the same time they allow my kids excitement to run and also set healthy boundaries, such as don't give them a 20 plainswalker that I might have to pay for, if you know what I mean. Shopping here has been a good experience and I will...
