Quiet, peaceful, clean environment with some exceptional menu items! My ol' lady had been bugging me to go with her for some Pho. She ordered their signature Pho bowl and I ordered a Bahn Mi, in additional to an order of spring rolls as well as egg rolls. The appetizers were done perfectly! The egg rolls were extra crispy with a wonderful, unique sweet and sour dip. However, the star of the appetizer order were hands-down the spring rolls! Rolled tight with a plethora of vegetables, pork, and whole shrimp, which was easily seen through the wrapping making it almost seem like a sushi wrap at first glance. it was served with a light, sweet-tasting peanut sauce that was garnished with some crushed peanuts on top. The size of the rolls was just right, although they didn't quite justify the price. Anyhow, I don't know much about Pho -im not a big fan of soupy dishes, but my lady really enjoyed it, and I must admit that it did have a pretty good aroma. When my Bahn Mi came, I was blown away by the sheer size of it. I've been to many joints across this country (most notably on the East coast) serving up these 'little' sandwiches over the years, and this one easily landed itself right at number 2 in my top 5 list. The baguette was very large and extreme crispy (absolutely perfect!), but the sandwich did bit seem overly bread by any means. I'm used to Bahn Mi being little 6-7 inch torpedo subs, and this was larger than a Subway, Quiznos, Jimmy John's, etc. foot long. It had all the right parts too with the carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and hidden jalapeños accompanying the roasted pork, which had an exceptional flavor, all of which was made even better with a pepper-infused-butter-like spread that I swear I would buy by the pint! Overall, really loved this place, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a mean sandwich or just wants something out of the ordinary. The lady and I will for sure be adding this to our date-night rotation! Thanks again Hot Spring! ...

I dined here with a co-worker recently and we left equally underwhelmed.
The food itself was delicious. The pho broth had great flavor and the egg rolls were fried perfectly. However, the bowls were filled with broth and very little of anything else. I've been to pho places in different cities around the country and very often received a more generous portion for under $10. In this case, two bowls of pho, an order of egg rolls, and extra noodles ran us close to $40. That's not including the extra fee that is charged here for paying with a card. Cash is king at Hot Spring Pho - you even pay a fee for using a debit card.
To be completely transparent, this was also the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant in IF. The dude who was working today seemed inconvenienced by every person who walked in. We were not greeted upon entering and it took over 10 minutes just to get our water...then at least another 5 for him to take our order. He would not check on the guests and was on his phone at the counter the whole time (until someone waived him down for help). When I say everyone in this restaurant was thirsty, I mean it literally. Each table in the restaurant ran out of water while we were dining here and physically had to stand up and walk over to the counter to ask for a refill. Then the host would come to the table with a water pitcher but only to refill the table who asked for it. Everyone else with an empty cup had to repeat the process. Hot Spring Pho is a fairly small restaurant, there is no reason customers have to sit around waiting for assistance if someone can stand around looking at their phone.
Considering the lack of pho places in Idaho Falls, I would potentially come back...but only for takeout. I don't recommend stopping by if you only have an hour for your...
Read moreOn a old street lit with twinkling lights and bricks that fill these old town buildings, nestled quietly is a little place you might miss. Just like out of a story book, you find a place called, "Hot Spring Pho" Its quint you see. Tiny, yet quiet. You wouldn't even hear a mouse stiring. Of course no mice here. Just happy little workers and their mother working in the kitchen, boiling soup, grilling meat, and occasionally peaking silently at those who stop in to eat, while she smiles as so many enjoy her cooking. See when so many get sick they come here for mothers cooking. Her soup warms the soul, all the way from the top of your head to the tippy top of your toes. You suddenly are full and make your way home, and feel a sense of home. A place, warm, safe, and familiar. You feel suddenly your well again and sickness melts away. The food the mother made in this tiny little old building made of very old bricks and so tiny inside only so many people come in but the warmth, love and good food is worth the stop in, have some delicious food, and arrive home later feeling happy and full. If you want to feel the joy of a mother's cooking and kind hearts full of gratitude, this is the place you'll want to visit. I am technically a writer and I don't write professionally but I love sharing true stories of places that really are storybook like so people feel that same joy I feel when I visit these places. Funny I write these reviews and I can quietly scurry to my next place and write about that place too with a feeling of quietness and hidden throughout the crowds of the bustling workers and people hurrying to their next destination. You'll fall in love with this place....
