I had a very disappointing experience at Lolysa Tailor and wish I had trusted my instincts rather than the reviews. I brought in a two-piece lengha set (top and skirt) for a friend’s wedding and explained several times that I needed both pieces altered by next Friday—nearly two weeks away. From the moment I dropped it off, things felt off. She quoted me $90, which felt high, but I assumed it would reflect high-quality work and a quick turnaround.

To my surprise, I received a pickup text that same Friday. When I arrived and expressed how surprised I was by the early completion, she insisted I had said “this” Friday—not “next”—despite my clear communication. I understand there may have been a language barrier, but I didn’t realize I'd be the one paying for the miscommunication.

Worse still, only the top had been altered, and even that didn’t fit well. She added extra fabric at the shoulders, which made it sit awkwardly and fall off my shoulders. Her solution was to rely on my bra straps to hold it in place. I was shocked when she quoted an additional $40 to alter the skirt, which was supposed to be included from the beginning. At that point, I had already spent $90 (which became $96 with tax) for a single, ill-fitting piece. See picture of how it was supposed to be vs how it turned out.

When I declined to pay more, her alternative was to give me two safety pins to hold the skirt up—completely unacceptable for a formal outfit. I was so frustrated, I just took the pieces and left.

I brought them a complex job - a fine lace dress with a corset top/boning that needed to be taken in 3-4 sizes. I also requested a custom top to be made from the long train of the skirt. I asked Facebook for recommendations on some clothes repair. This business answered me directly.and very timely. I had a seam on a new pair of shorts that was not sown and two good pairs of shorts missing buttons. I brought them over and showed them what I wanted done and the next day I got a text saying they were done. They were perfect and their price was very reasonable.
