I have been attending this church for some time now. I left my old church because they were based on politics so I wanted to find a real honest, truthful, and biblical church. I finally felt I had found a great church, but God quickly revealed to me otherwise. This past Sunday I discovered First Baptist promotes the prosperity gospel. They began their Fourth of July sermon with a video of a man promoting the prosperity gospel. They had a false prophet guest named Jason Crabbs sing. He sang songs with the lyrics “come get your blessings.” We DO NOT demand blessings from God. I felt like I was attending elevation church. It was more like a concert than a place of worship. They had fireworks going off, a light show, fog machine, and they introduced Jason Crabbs in a concerning way. They had the lights completely off so no one can see, then boom- strobe lights. Shortly after Jason finished his singing, a guest preacher began preaching and one of the first things he said was that if you don’t like this country then you can leave and go somewhere else. Scripture says to come open armed, to love your enemy, to love your neighbor. Right then I realized this preacher is also a false prophet and we walked out of the church- not 25 minutes in. Scripture says God comes with comfort and I was truly uncomfortable. It upsets my soul that all the tithings that people work very hard to donate are being used for fireworks, lights, fog machines, tvs, etc.. very upsetting after thinking I finally found the right church. I have difficulty believing that is what Jesus has called the church to spend their money on. It doesn’t sit right with me that Preacher Mike paid this singer to sing and let prosperity gospel into the church. Preacher Mike always preached biblical truths, but after what we experienced this past Sunday, I am questioning Mike’s sincerity. I’m not here to judge, I’m just truly upset and questioning Mike as a preacher. I’m greatly disappointed that Satan was invited into what I thought was a...

A once great church has really gone downhill.

The music program is a fraction of what it was 15 years ago. Now it’s a mix of show and glitz. Highly over amplified sound so much so that it requires hearing protection. A chaotic blend of contemporary or contemporary infused music. That the leadership there lacks the perceptiveness to understand the music voices with no amplification would be sufficient and beautiful.

The preaching was once always solid, evangelical and challenging. Progressively there is Pride from the leadership and the pulpit so much so that the “don’t challenge me “attitude is evident. There’s a fair amount of celebrity pastor invites where a guest is invited in, praised to no end, in order to receive a reciprocal invite. I suspect there’s some significant monetary incentive. in any case the church really needs to evaluate leadership overall. It’s time system for a fresh set of conservative, traditional, evangelical, humble, fiery preaching. Too much power is held in one position.

I’ve been to many many Sunday school classes. Most are fine enough and I didn’t see any. That were “off base “however there were any that were digging deep, truly digging deep and growing as disciples.

The Fellowship at this church is overall good. There is a sense of pride too much so in this...

2 Sundays including Easter Sunday and plan to go back. The service we attend is called blended. It offers some modern with a more traditional service. Music program seems solid and they perform a lot of older music in the mix. My wife comes from Lee Park which is too modern for my taste but seems to be a good church. This is the happy medium for us both. I actually feel compelled here. My step son enjoys the sermons as do I. Mike is a solid preacher and speaks the Bible as truth as far as I have seen. His sermon the Sunday before Easter answered a lot of the questions and worries I have in any church. I have not heard any straying from the Word of God to defend any life styles or false ideas. I feel the Holy Spirit is there. His sermons are well organized and also organic in there nature. It seems serious and also fun. Parking is a bear but it's there. They offer a lot of activities for...
