This review references the corporate owned T-Mobile store at 9702 East Washington Street (suite 500), just west of Mitthoeffer Road. Customers beware! I went to this store in early February to buy a new phone and service, because I liked the idea of Starlink making signal access available in isolated areas. I was helped by a T-Mobile store associate who identified himself as Alex G. Later, upon seeing that my 1st phone bill was higher than expected, I examined the bill details and saw a charge for a "tablet line." I've never owned a tablet, so I called T-Mobile customer service for help. The representative who took my call advised me that "in the spirit of full disclosure, he probably added that line to boost his commission, because store reps get paid for each new line they sell to customers." I told her the tablet line was added without my knowledge or permission, and she removed it. But that wasn't all the store associate had done. He somehow made me a "standard user" on my new phone account, which severely limited my access permissions. For example, I was unable to make any changes to my own account. I should have been named the primary account holder, which includes unlimited permissions. It took 3 weeks of calling T-Mobile customer service, including many hours talking with various T-Mobile representatives, for me to uncover all of those issues. They ultimately directed me to return to the original store so they could "bypass and reset" the account permissions, but the manager was unresponsive to my dilemma (I went there on a Saturday). Upon calling T-Mobile customer service yet again, the representative managed to correct my account access. Overall this was a nightmarish experience. When we go to a store location for an essential service like phone access, we do so with the expectation that we will be treated fairly and honestly- especially considering the highly sensitive and detailed personal information that is required of us. That honesty and forthright treatment is severely lacking at this T-Mobile store location. Be very careful if...
Read moreI went in last week to get a tablet. Let me just start by saying, I'm a senior on disability income... I was told by Aaron, the rep that helped me, that the tablet I bought would be free if I bought a extra line that was $20 a month. I already have an additional line for free on my account. I asked him specifically if I could just activate that one and pay for the tablet outright. He told me no. And I started getting a weird feeling a week later so I checked my account and it showed I was getting charged $65 plus tax and fees for the extra line. I'm just paying $75 now for my regular phone. So $65+ a month is a lot just to add a tablet. In addition to that he put on a charger for $20 that I didn't approve. He never told me about the additional charges. I felt completely taken advantage of. Beware. If you go in to get anything make sure you ask questions. Look at your receipt. Check everything. I actually went on my account and I looked at all the downloads and everything that was coming in my future and that's where I found the charges. They don't show you right away. So by the time you see everything that's going to happen it's too late to do any returns. Know what you're getting in to. Even a customer who's been with them for 24 years will get ripped off. Total shame. I just got off the phone with T-Mobile customer service and they informed me that I could have got the tablet and activated it on the existing line for no additional monthly fee. Just the cost of the tablet. Just be warned if you go into this location the rep Aaron is a nice guy but his motivation is his commission so you think you're getting good customer service when you're actually...
Read moreAfter my event on Monday night at 11135 Pendleton pike, I was instructed to go to an actual t mobile store. I showed up here, was immediately greeted, and explained the phone switches we were trying to do Monday night. They pulled my account and immediately assured me they had a t mobile expert manager, and a sprint expert manager. Ms. Jazz quickly started working her magic behind closed doors as the technician brought back first the sim cards, then one phone, then the second, lastly bringing them out to the computer (much like a surgeon and her support). They assured me they were working on it, and not having a party back there (though they did claim to have cake in the freezer). The t mobile manager was always up front keeping crowd control, social distancing, and PROPER mask wearing! After an hour and a half, I was handed my 2 devices, on the correct lines, and was told my only charge was to leave a Google review. Good thing I already planned in doing the from my 2 store experiences. Next mission, to get the sim cards swapped to t mobile so they recognize 5g (sprint sims so not...
