So, I've been here a few times with my girlfriend and sometimes with her and some of her family because she lived on the East side of Indy right close to the restaurant. As far as Chinese style buffets that I can find in Indiana this has so far been my favorite. They are open late, have decent prices, and an actually good selection of different kinds of food. But, I haven't been in a while because my girlfriend moved to Plainfield with me over here on the West side of Indy. Well, last night we both were in the mood for exactly Teppanyaki Buffet and nothing else. I did a few google searches for other Chinese buffets that might be closer to us but they all have bad to mediocre reviews and I didn't want to be disappointed. So, after two hours of pestering the gf I finally got her to agree to drive all the way to the East side just for the Teppanyaki Grille. I had checked their website earlier and there wasn't any particularly special or useful information. There was a phone number and I tried calling several times; at least two or three times in a row every five minutes or so for a half hour while the gf was getting ready. No one ever answered. It would ring five or six times and then go to a voicemail with an automated message saying "the voice mailbox was full please try calling back". I just wanted to verify their hours and dinner prices before driving all the way out there, but like I said, no answer. So, we leave. Forty minutes later in traffic we get there and it was already turning night. We're on Washington St. about to turn into the strip mall and the gf goes, "UHH, they look closed! There's no lights on." I pull up to the front of the place and, oh yeah, no lights, doors locked. There's a barely readable sign made of a poster board written with a sharpie that says "CLOSED for maintenance will reopen soon". Pretty sure some of the words were misspelled too, but I don't remember. So, I'm pissed. Just sitting there in the parking lot hungry and mad. It's like 8 o'clock now and other places are going to be closing soon so I can't even think of where else to go, but more than that is that we had our hearts set on this one and only restaurant. We drive back to Plainfield and end up going to the Peking Buffet because they were open until 11pm. It wasn't that good. Here's the thing: the Teppanyaki Grille & Buffet was the best Chinese buffet that I've found so far in Indy, but I hold a grudge. Their website could've said they were closed. When I called they could've had their answering machine say they were closed. All they had was a shitty sign in the front window after I wasted my time and gas to get there. So, screw them and their unprofessional management of their business. They've lost themselves a good customer. I won't...
Read moreI am so terribly sorry to report the incredible decline in the quality of the food the daily buffet. I was a long time fan of what the restaurant used to be Teanyaka... For though over $10 dep and Yaka offered an incredible International fair of high quality but they style entrees probably the best buffet had ever been to in Indianapolis high quality fresh food friendly people but my has it changed the staff are depressed and I can tell they know that the restaurant is not how it should be the food is all I mean every bit of the food was several days old I could tone the buffet French fries white plastic pizza dried out completely seafood and edible and stinky salad bar Brown lettuce actual Mold or some other going factor noted on the jello And not that I minded paying before we 8 but the nice thing about taken yoga is you would sit down to a nice meal when you're done eating as you left you a pay they did not able to do that now because no one would pay for the terrible to thee the collector money before you see the buffet and once you get they have your money it's to it to get a refund so I would highly recommend demanding to review the buffet visually before you pay to eat there because otherwise you may be incredibly disappointed the roster money for exasperates the costliest think completely Stupid attempt at being a buffet I very rarely leave any bed reviews for anyone but I must tell you that this is where the worst experiences I've had dining and Indianapolis the whole time I lived here 49 years I'm sure the to help department would close to the immediately for the numerous health violations if I noticed including who do with being maintained at temperatures unsanitary flooring throughout the restaurant staff not wearing masks and just be careful before you go in expecting him to be nice like I used to be the easy to change the Greeley on the way out the door I asked the manager if she would like any feedback on how I like the food and she said no that was not necessary to that 3 much tells you right there in your they're serving A quality product that they are not proud to even discuss rotten leftover slop. And if anyone reads this it works for the health department I strongly recommend an urgent visit to the restaurant to determine if you are even meeting the quality standards that are required for a restaurant to maintain and sure...
Read moreA few firsts were made during my trip to Daily today. Today marks my first time leaving a review for a restaurant, and my first time requesting a refund for any food service ever. During my time at Daily Buffet, my wife and I got two plates each, and didn’t eat a single plates worth of food between the two of us. The service was not good, only getting a drink refill, and our first plates taken after I took them into another room, and searched for a server. Only then was I chased down by someone who I can only assume didn’t want me to be seen with old plates and an empty cup, looking for a place to put them myself. As for the food; We both tried each item we had on our first plate, and half of it wasn’t even edible enough to swallow. The half that was, was extremely subpar, and tasted like it had been made last week and had been waiting for a “busy” day to get through the supply they had. Not to mention we were sat relatively close to the bathroom, which is fine, but we were in an area that allowed both of us witness a man SPRINT to the bathroom, where we heard him lose the lunch for which he had just overpaid. After this, we STILL went up and got our second plate, none of which was edible and were left there, seemingly untouched. After this sub-mediocre experience, I decided we would eat somewhere else, and requested a refund, which again I’ve never felt the need to do before, so the $38 we spent on two people could be put toward a meal we could actually eat. The hostess took great offense to this, becoming extremely defensive, and even rude. I was told because it had been almost 30 minutes since we initially paid, that “That is a you problem” and they would not offer a refund, despite not eating a single plates worth of food during the time here. So long story short: We overpaid, the food was terrible so we didn’t eat, heard a man throw up in the bathroom while we were there, we got a shoulder shrug and a “tough shit” when we requested a refund for our terrible experience, and we’re both at home on the couch, feeling like the food we did bring ourselves to swallow, may make a second appearance on the way up at any time. There are plenty of other chinese buffets in the area. They’re all much less expensive than this one, and you might actually have an enjoyable experience. Avoid this place at all costs. I know we’ll never...
