Whispering Pines Park - FOR FREE! This park is a beautiful asset to Citrus County providing 290 acres of forest and activities for the family:

I had noticed what looked to be a parking area when driving by never stopped. After I started working out @ PF, that decided to check it out, happy girl.

Not only do I get my workout in @ PF but I can go directly across street walk the 2 1/2 or any of the remaining 3 City trails. This convenience of having a gym so close to an outdoor worthy environment is also a great mood booster.

The trails are easily navigable, the trail signs could be better marked for location purposes.

This is a small park, but has lots to do. The longest trail is 2.9 mi going around the perimeter of the park, but there are multiple trails going through the center of the park and they all connect so you can hike for miles and miles. There's also a nice swimming pool. They have disc golf set up throughout the park which gives you both a nice walk plus a nice game of disc golf. There are tennis courts, baseball diamonds, plus sections where the little kitties can play with swings jungle Jim's and other fun activities.
