Horrible pre-order customer service experience!!
I pre-ordered a game at this location and the store manager Jay told me earlier this month that I would be able to pick it up yesterday. However, when I went here to pick up the game, Jay told me that they had sold the game to someone else. He then claimed that "he didn't remember me," that "he didn't remember talking to me," and that "he never would have told me that they could hold the game that long."
It's just ridiculous. I have been a longtime GameStop customer and I have spent so much money at this store, and at other GameStop locations. I have been a good customer here, and I followed their instructions with the pre-order and made the required deposit for the game. When I was unable to pick it up on release day, I acted responsibly and called them to ask that they hold the game until 12/21. Over the phone, Jay promised that they would hold the game until 12/21, and that it would be at the store for me to pick up at that time. However, this turned out to be a lie because they sold the game to someone else.
Not only did the manager Jay lie to me on the phone, but he also refused to do more to compensate me for the loss. The game I pre-ordered was a Christmas gift, and it is sold out online. When I said that I still wanted the game, Jay and an associate at the store said they could order from one store that still had a copy, but they refused to ship the game overnight to guarantee delivery before Christmas. They also did not offer any kind of discount or in-store credit for my inconvenience.
I have been a loyal customer at this store and I have spent so much money here prior to this experience. I followed the instructions for participating in the pre-order, and there were no rules in the pre-order preventing the game from being held until 12/21. I paid the deposit and they promised that the game would be there for me to pick up, yet they sold it to someone else without telling me. They took my money, lied to me, and then I got nothing in return.
The low level of customer service that I received here is shocking. I will no longer be shopping at this GameStop location. As a lifelong gamer, I realize that there are many other merchants to buy video games from. I never experienced bad video game customer service like this at Best Buy, Walmart, or Target. I will choose to buy from them from now on, and I will never buy from this...
Read moreSo last month I went up here to trade in by Xbox series X in for a PS5 slim. Immediately when I bring out my console the guy there asks me if it's been sitting for awhile and I'm like yeah by my TV that's why I'm trading it in I barely touch the thing. He goes on to tell me because of all the dust on the console they have to send it to a special facility to be taken apart and cleaned and this will significantly lower my trade in value. Having already set my mind on the ps5 I'm game to deal with a little extra cost so I ask how much it'll take off. Dude won't tell me just says it will be alot. And at this point I'm feeling some deja vu. See back in January I came here because I ordered online fire emblem three houses and the warehouse sent me fire emblem warriors three hopes. I tried to return it at this store, the employee called his manager and it seemed like I would get to exchange my item. But he couldn't figure out how to do the exchange. And instead of asking his manager again just told me I had to call the corporate number and deal with them. I did and corporate said the store should have just processed the return but they at least accepted my return albeit with a lengthy wait for a return label. But knowing this I decided to call the guys bluff with my Xbox series x. I politely told him that's just dumb I could just clean it myself. So I went back to my office and blew out the dust on the fan which newsflash fans do collect dust, and went to another gamestop on my way home and what do you know they gave me the full price without any fuss. Moral of both stories is this store will do anything to avoid giving you money. Make sure you look up your trade in values and stay sharp so they don't take advantage of you. But I'd honestly just avoid this store and try...
Read moreI have gone to this Gamestop several times since moving to Texas back in October. Each time has been a rough experience but I was willing to give this Gamestop another chance multiple times. As a former GameStop employee from Florida, there are things this Gamestop does that does not meet the customer service standards. They automatically try and charge me the insurance without asking me for it. They belittled the knowledge of me and my wife when it comes to the gaming world and treat us like when are stupid. Lastly, on May 4th, the store opened 1 hour late(store opens at noon, i was there at 12:45pm and no one still was at the store), I had an online order fulfilled and ready for pick up the day before and went during my lunch break. When I returned later that day to try and pick it up again, they were closed again. The unprofessionalism of this store is ridiculous and I will be taking my business to a different Gamestop in the area or...
