Masala Wok Indian + Asian Fare — Restaurant in Irving

This location is usually 50/50 whether or not you'll have a good experience, but tonight was enough to make me finally write a review. First, I've had the tikka masala here dozens of times, and at other locations it's always well done - good spices and just the right heat. Here it's wildly inconsistent, and tonight it was all heat and tomato, and no other flavor. This has happened before so I was ready to accept it as a mediocre visit but after my food came out, my husband sat waiting for his for 20 minutes.

This wasn't isolated, two other tables nearby were having the same issue with slow service and split up orders. While we waited a child dropped their water on the floor and the servers just walked through the puddle, never cleaning it. My iced tea came out with objects floating in it - a sign that the carafe hasn't been cleaned in a while. It is 36 degrees outside, and instead of having the heater on, they have air conditioning. It was like we were eating outdoors. Finally we reported the spilled water as we were leaving, because it had gone under our table and I nearly slipped in it, and the server rolled her eyes and said 'I've got to go clean up what they spilled' when a) we did not spill it and b) guess you would rather have someone sue you for falling?

We've given this place many chances and the only thing that's consistent about it is that they're always inconsistent. I feel bad making a negative review of one of the only places using sustainable goods in their plates and silverware, but we didn't go there for compostable materials, we went for good indian food and service and sadly they haven't delivered - too many times. Go to the locations in Richardson or Frisco and save yourself some...

I have been eating through Masala Wok for over a year now. I loved their food but stopped eating with them recently after experiencing their horrible customer service. I spent over $1,500 with them during my visits and had a lot of points gathered that I hadn't used and was planning to save them. A few months ago, I got a message saying that my points are about to expire if not used. Like my usual routine, I went there to pick up my order and asked if the message was true and if I need to start using my points. I was told by multiple employees that the points are for life and they will not expire so I can disregard the message. I asked the same question multiple times each visit and got the same answer each time so I disregarded the message. After a few days, the points expired. I went there to resolve the issue but I was refused help. The employees said that we are unable to resolve the issue, so we can have the owner call you. I waited for days to receive a call but I didn't. I called multiple times to get a hold of the owner but was not able to get help or the issue resolved. For someone who has spent so much money at this restaurant, I am so disappointed with this awful service. This is not a way to treat your customers. Would never...

I have never written a bad review before now, however, this particular store has had three strikes. First I have ordered online three times in a row, every time I received the wrong order. Second the people working there take zero pride in their job...zero 'f's' given. Third their new menu is now charging for things like Nan that usually come with the entrees. HOWEVER my last online order wasn't ready when I arrived, they didn't even check their online orders I guess. I waited fifteen minutes patiently with a polite attitude, got my food and left. When I got home I started eating not thinking twice, when I tried the meat I knew it wasn't chicken. Usually I let this go and eat it, but this was the last straw. So I went back to have my order fixed, they were apologetic otherwise I'd probably start yelling then and there, but it turns out the meat was lamb...I don't eat lamb...I'm against it morally. I was so distraught and upset I didn't even think about getting a refund for the horrible experience. When I got home for second time I compared my southern curry chicken with the wrong order...it was not even the same dish. Seriously awful, will not be eating there again, if you order online check...
